Someone started this thread, yay. Hokay. So. I think there's a distinction that needs to be made between "now" Em and Em in his prime (10,12,8 years ago). Em in his prime was no question good looking (if you were a girl who liked a certain general type of guy). He was widely considered a "hot" male celeb, and was just... he was "hot" in the way that say, Justin Timberlake, or like, Drake, is hot now. He looked sexy as hell in 8 Mile and the Superman video, and was considered a teen heartthrob of sorts.
The thing is that the whole "Eminem is ugly" or "Eminem is weird-looking" issue/debate is really mainly from the past couple of years. Em used to be widely considered conventionally handsome. (This doesn't mean literally everyone thought so, obviously. There are people who think Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift are ugly, but that doesn't mean they are, in a general sense.) People just have the shortest attention spans on the planet, so they forget, but Em used to be a prime piece of celebrity man-meat.
On the other hand, "now" Em.... is definitely still a decent-looking dude dude (though not so much within the realm of celebrities anymore) especially for his age, but, for one, like Amaranthine said, he's not photogenic (he's never been, but it's getting worse, I think. lol). And two... he's not aging as well as he could be. I don't mean he's aging more rapidly than normal, he's just aging in kind of a weird way. I don't know. However, I feel like the weirdness probably shows up more in pictures than in reality. He's probably at least moderately DILF-y in real life. In fact, I have read that he is indeed much better looking in person these days than in pictures.
Nowadays he has that sort of dorky-awkward-aging look, but remember that, in the past, he looked like this:

If that's not a beautiful man, I don't know what is. So he's definitely worse for wear, now, but as a young man, no question, he was good-looking.
This picture's pretty DILF-y to me though, not gonna lie...
