Do you think his next album will outsell Recovery?

First week and overall, US and Worldwide.
My opinion: no way.

Depends on how big the first single is. If it blows up like Not afraid, the album will have a fair chance to top Recovery's first week sales.

Overall sales depends on how good the album is. If its a classic, it can. Or if it has features from artists like Gaga, Adele, Wayne, Bieber etc. it can surely sell way more than Recovery did.

Let's just say it will do well sales-wise. Fact of the matter is, though, that Eminem will never do 1million+ sales first week ever again. If he collabs for a poppy single with Lady Gaga, Stans will call him a sellout and download that shit. If he goes back to his roots and does a normal, rap single...the kids and teeny-boppers won't listen to that shit. You just can't win. :coffee:

Edit: Ok, to answer the topic, the album just might outsell Recovery. The wait has been just the right amount of time to hold off hardcore fans, so we'll definitely want to hear it whenever it comes out.

If the lead single is as big as Not Afraid then yes.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

If the lead single ends up being something like "Without Me" or something, then most definitely. He's going back to his roots, but also a funny commercial single.

this. Recovery had Rihanna and Love the way you lie, and that helped a lot to the sales.

Of course he doesn't have to do that type of song to outsell Recovery.

Yeah agree with everyone in here. All depends on first single. Not Afraid was perfect for a comeback album and look what happend. If not anything groundbreaking and mainstream like that, Its gonna be tough to beat them sales.

Depends on the overall content theme.

I guess that shows you how mainstream some of Recovery's songs really are.

It's really just Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie.

If he makes a funny single, it will do less than "Without Me". At this point, seeing as Em is 39, I think the best way to approach the singles is to make deep or meaningful songs and do whatever the fuck he wants with the rest of the album.
Just the public image of him doing a funny song wouldn't be as big as him addressing a real issue, people wouldn't care as much if he made a funny song.

However, if it's stirs big controversy then i'd encourage Em to go for it. It's hard to make a huge controversial song these days.

Depends, if he can do a funny single while still having important issues within it, it might be good
