Articles like these come across as if they're shocked that songs made to be mainstream are poor lyrically, their target audience isn't exactly a dinner party consisting of Shakespeare, John Lennon and Johnny Cash. It's like when you see a freestyle and people are criticizing one artist for using dumbed down lyrics while the other is on some Einstein school of chemistry mindfuckery. I'd rather the former. Unless you're doing a performance at Harvard, stick to lyrics the audience can understand.

I agree about the 'spaghett'even' line - that's a terrible pun which is one of those ones where, you could just tell he noticed it could work and couldn't resist it, which is a lazy tendency...

But, I don't agree about the 'butt police' line as he's trying to be silly. I think there's a big difference between being serious about a cringing line, and just being silly. That 'rear rear rear' pun works in two ways and he's just being goofy, I don't find it cringing as he's meaning to be silly.

I disagree. While I agree the lines aren't that great (I laughed at both though), there's PLENTY of other lyrics out there that are worse / more stupid.
