Eminem ft. Da Ruckus - We Shine [Throwback]

One of those rare songs that you never hear about. I love Em's verse and his voice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI1R9RnC0-k

[Eminem]
My Smith and Wessy got you layin in some alley messy
Got your family lookin for your ass on Sally Jessy
We squash beef in the mo', when you ain't breathin no more
Leavin your skull split like Steven Seagal
Let the cat out, flat out, Detroit's a mad house
So I don't get offended when I hear my city badmouthed
We quick to pull the gat out and set it
And leave you with more shit missin than a Lil' Kim radio edit
Stick up kids be tryin to live paid
You get your grill sprayed with twenty-seven bullets in your ribcage
Get the guage, cock it back, empty your pockets, Jack
Or I'mma send you flyin like a rocketpack
Murder you for a bag of chips and a chocolate snack
Break into your crib still your shit and lock it back
Ten-year old kids be standin on the block with gats
Just for livin nowadays'll get you flocked with bats
Where I'm from...

Nonsensical EM has always been my favorite. When he makes a rhyme saying something just backwards and insane is when he is at his best to me.

"Murder you for a bag of chips and a chocolate snack
Break into your crib still your shit and lock it back"

"I light a candle and place it up on the mantle
Grab a knife by the blade and stab you with the fucking handle"

"Broke in a mobile home and stole a stove and fridge
Kidnapped the parents and left the ransom note for the kids"

^ Lines like those are awesome. He said stuff like that a lot early on.

Haha, exactly! It's so random and his delivery is perfect which makes lines like that awesome as fuck.

Love those lines!
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

See even vintage Em said very little. It was just violence and sarcasm, he just did it in such a unique, wordy, weird and fresh way. I do think style can be everything though... how you say things, regardless of what it is you're talking about. Em certainly gets that even now, he's always been obsessive about pushing phrasing and weird worded couplets in new directions and surprising the listener with his expression, I just really think he needs some startling concepts now.

Those are my favourite kind of lines from Em... left-field wit and irony... or just when he's spiteful: "have you locked in a celler; developing anorexia, while I'm standing next to ya... eating a full course meal" - he's never stopped saying these 'kinds' of things, it's just that depending on his style of writing and rapping (which is constantly changing), sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, or nowhere near as well as it did. His 97-99 style I think was probably best for these kind of left-field, cartoon violence lines. His wit was so brilliant then though.

I remember back in 2005, this was the first song by eminem that i downloaded(the orginal version)
After i got all his Records(CDs)
it all began with that.
I was lookin for every song that features eminem, i guess it took me like 2 years to git em all together
and now you can find em all over the internet.

A good example of that type of line in more recent times would be in "On Fire"

"Walk up on a homeless man, holdin' a sign sayin'
'Vietnam vet', I'm out my fuckin mind man
Kick over the can, beat his ass and leave him 9 grand"
"America...just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable" — Hunter S. Thompson

"Poison the well, your enemies are thirsty!" — Modest Mouse
