Em's Style on "Ridaz" and "Session One"

Postby EminemBase » Feb 17th, '13, 20:15

His style on these tracks is awesome...

It feels 'bunched up', as in, his flow and delivery is kinda tricky, highly energized and packed with rhymes and badass phrasing, but it also sounds really clear and his tone is slightly higher... and crisp. And it's similar on both, as if both these tracks were made close to each other.

I really love all these verses and this style, feels slightly different from the rest of Recovery too, I'd imagine it was made a little before, or a little after, the rest of those tracks. And the production is WAY better on both, and makes a huge difference.

Now I ain't back just for the sake of just sayin I'm back
I could relax but I'd rather stack ammo on tracks
Couple Xanax, light a couple wax candles then black
out and relapse 'til I yack Jack Daniels and 'gnac

That part of the song is amazing. He does well on the song, but I feel like the last part of the verse he rambles and gets boring

"Who claims to be spittin the same flames as me? I'm Kanye when he crashed
In other words I got the hood on smash like I stepped on the gas
Destroyed the front end, deployed the damn airbags from the dash
Went through 'em and laughed
Came back an hour after the accident and bit a goddamn Jawbreaker in half!
So stop fakin the funk and start shakin your ass
Slaughterhouse in the house with the caucasian of rap
and Just Blaze on the track, what's the fuck's more amazin than that?
Slut, answer me that, Royce where you at?"

I don't like any of that. I also think slaughterhouse is horrible other than royce and he isn't good on this song.

But yeah those first four bars and part of the middle is awesome. Pretty decent beat too.
It's the body bag game bitch I'm supplying coffins

How could you not like this? This is typical Shady, he always used to do stuff like that:

"I'm harder than me tryna park a Dodge, when I'm drunk as fuck
Right next to a humongous truck in a two-car garage
Hoppin' out with two broken legs, fuck you too bitch
Call the cops! Ima kill you and them loud ass motherfucking barking dogs"

I ain't finished blowin' it, nice bra
Hope it'll fit a tough titty, bitch
Life's hard, I swear to God, life is a dumb blonde white broad
With fake tits and a bad dye job
Who just spit in my fuckin' face and called me a fuckin' tightwad

This part too, by the way. I like the rhyming on Roman's Revenge.

I love the "Go take a flying leap of faith off a fucking balcony" line. Kinda ruins it with the falcon wing line to finish it, but that line is funny / spiteful, and vintage.

Why does it seem like everyone else loves songs I absolutely fucking hate?
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

Love both tracks. Ridaz especially. His voice, flow and rhymes reminded me slightly of TES. Ridaz is proof, at least slightly recent proof the Em and Dre is how it should always be.

We're gonna rock this house until we knock it down
So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So baby make just like K-Fed and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke

Go Berzerk!

I have to agree with you embase, almost to a T.

its weird, the bonus tracks have always had that feel like if they were on the album they might have stood out, like these 2 would have. minus stimulate, that woulda been the best thing for them to put on tes

Ridaz is one of my favorite songs since his comeback.

Also his entire Session One verse is pretty badass.
