Eminem's profanity use

Postby Eminemeatinm&m » Feb 25th, '13, 16:36

Man, I listen to Rock genre and shit but man, nothing will ever surpass Eminem's badassery in profanity use. So badass I can listen to any song with a lot of cussing. When he releases shit without saying FUCK, it's out of place.

Here's a quick list of how he uses profanity words in his songs:
[RECOVERY] Cold Wind Blows: 43 profanity words
[RECOVERY] Untitled: 25 profanity words
[RELAPSE] Bagpipes From Baghdad: 16 profanity words
[RELAPSE] Underground: 30 profanity words
[RELAPSE] Insane: 33 profanity words
[SOMEBATSHITCRAZYDAY] Fack: 83 profanity words

(NOTE: The counting includes the choruses and repeated words, plus I just listened to those songs before I felt tired and jus died seepin' know y'mean?)

This also proves Recovery isn't really Mainstream, it has more cussing than Relapse and that is a surprise to me.

This is excluding innuendos of course. You can say a lot of bad words without directly saying them.

Just look at the bloodhound gang.
"I take yall diss as endearment - I love it when I hear it
Maybe words offensive - free speech I don't fear it
Maybe music can take us to a place so atmospheric
Beyond our greatest imagination, illuminatin' experience
If we open our ears and close our inhibitions, it's clear"

I guess because cussing is censored, and songs with a lot of cussing in them don't really sell.

Everybody is cussing in public on daily basis, let alone hip-hop artists. ''Recovery'' is actually pretty mild for a hip-hop album, esp. as you compared it to ''Relapse''. Do you really think cussing or making fun of celebrities could be compared to raping & chopping people in pieces, drinking their blood & all that? Think again!
You gotta be too young if profanity & cussing impresses you, or catches your attention that much but actually it is even kinda off to get to it if we talk about hip-hop album.

The content of the album doesn't matter. The content of guilty conscience was the rape of a 15 year old girl. And that shit was on MTV/BET and the radio all the time. Yeah it was sensored, but everyone new what was going on.

All of Em's albums have been mainstream radio friendly albums. He has always been marketable based off his looks and talent. Em sold out when he died his hair blonde. But it's excusable when you still make good music. Only difference in Recovery is it is really shitty. His next album could be called Profanity and all he does is cuss every word of every song and they would find a single in there some where. Money finds a way.

He did make his best music with the blonde hair.

He also made some of his worst while he was blonde too

The bad doesn't outweigh the GREAT back then :shakehead:

Put SSLP, MMLP, Devil's Night, TES, the songs off the 8 Mile Soundtrack, and every other rare/collab/unreleased song between 1999-2003 on a balance beam with Encore and everything that came out with it till his hiatus.

No. Nice try though buddy :y:

EDIT: Suck my dick. That's for the GIF, bitch.

Lol, I REALLY hate this argument.

Not EVERY verse/song he released in that time frame (1999-2003) was PERFECT.

"Fack" is a really shitty song, one of the worst songs in the history of hip-hop. Anything from his pill-era was straight-up terrible. His "Touchdown" verse, "Celebrity" verse, "Hello Good Morning" verse...the list goes on.

It doesn't matter HOW much good songs there are to HOW much bad songs there are, it's about HOW GOOD those songs are, and HOW BAD those songs are.
