SKYLAR GREY GETS HANDS ON WITH EMINEM ON DEBUT ALBUM

Skylar Grey is putting the finishing touches on her debut Don’t Look Down with help from one of the biggest names in music, Eminem. In addition to appearing on the first single “C’mon Let Me Ride,” the Detroit rapper is executive producing the project.

“He showed a lot of interest and support for my project,” the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter told Rap-Up TV at the MySpace ChapStick Sessions concert. “It kinda happened naturally where he became executive producer of the album.”

The hip-hop superstar has taken a hands-on approach. “I’ve actually been really lucky to have a lot of time with Marshall, giving me advice and feedback on all the songs, helping me pick the songs for the album,” she said. “I think he’s been pretty involved.”

Skylar shows a more playful side on her single “C’mon Let Me Ride,” but it’s not indicative of the rest of the album. “Most of the other songs are a little bit more serious. Sometimes when I’m being serious, I think it’s funny too.”

In addition to writing her own material, she has penned CeeLo Green’s new single “Only You.” “As I started writing more soulful stuff, I realized that it comes really naturally to me, so I hope to do more of it.”

Don’t Look Down is due this spring on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope featuring production from Alex Da Kid and J.R. Rotem.

He's doing more than that. He's doing the same thing he did with Slaughterhouse album, he's helping her make the album best as possible, by doing verses, adding additional instruments, mixing, song order, helping decide which songs make the cut and which ones don't, concepts, features.

So, with this album, just like Slaughterhouse, he's involved in this just as much, if not more than Skylar is.

If Skylar is on a track count on this fucker to have produced the beat. I see only one ADK beat being used for the album.

In actuality, Recovery only had one ADK beat and it was Love The Way You Lie. I don't think there's anything to worry about this time around. I see one song and no more.

Em HAS to know that everyone wants his and Dre's production. There's no way he doesn't, that was the main complaint with his last album. Hopefully the reason why it's taking so long is that he's in the lab making beats right now.

I think he does to a certain extent but I do hope he doesn't listen to us, the fans, you're right. Last time he did that he never got to hear Relapse 2. I think he knows what we all want and cares about it but at the same time I really see him doing his own thing on this next album. It will probably produce some great music.
