Evidence that could indicate the album's "DETROIT" theme

Let's get our Sherlock Holmes shit on. I made a thread a long time ago saying how the 8th album should, and most likely, will be heavily based and/or influenced by Detroit. Even though the album is fairly close to being released (or at least that's what we all assume), there haven't been many indications, clues, or hints about what its main theme will be. However, I feel that the "Detroit" influence has been hinted for a long time.

Chrysler Superbowl Ad

Yes, this is old (2011), yet I believe this was the first indication on what was Eminem going to focus on for his next solo project. Some people say "nobody gives a fuck about shitty Detroit", and while that might be true, watch that ad and tell me it doesn't send chills down your spine.

#2
Image
Baseball Cap

This was I believe the first confirmation that the album was going to come out in 2013. Since then, Em has been pimpin' that "E" logo, which is like the baby of the Eminem and Detroit Tigers logo.

#3
Image
Heart Soul Detroit Book

Eminem was in the cover of this book, which talked about what makes Detroit so fascinating and has interviews with the most important people that called that city home. There's an Eminem picture that has written in his own words "Detroit Stand Up". While not a Shady Records/Interscope release, it's pretty fair to assume that Em's manager used this book to give fans a glimpse of the "new era" of Eminem, portrayed in that dark, bowing down stance seen in the cover.

The Spirit of Detroit

This was one of the most recent "hints" users here discovered. A Spirit of Detroit logo has been seen in The Alchemist's turntable/DJ Station. In previous years they had the recovery "+" logo there, but now the Spirit of Detroit has taken its place. Something that's an interesting coincidence is that the creator of the statue is also called "Marshall". Could this statue give us more details about the album's theme? probably.

Eminem Limited Edition G-Shock

G-shock will be releasing this limited edition G-Shock in December. The interesting about it is that there is a Detroit skyline on the band of the watch. Em could have used his classic "Jason mask / chainsaw guy" or other type of illustration, but he went with the skyline instead.

Image
Eminem Merchandise

A lot of the current merchandise has an ongoing Detroit theme. Take that image from that limited poster for example, where Em can be seen going all super-saiyan with the city of Detroit in the background.

Detroit's Situation

It's no surprise that Detroit is in the shitter. That poor city keeps being ranked #1 in lists of "most miserable cities in America". People say "Oh, what's Eminem going to rap about? He has ran out of topics!". Well, I can't seriously find a better source of inspiration for him than the city that he loves so much. The best music comes out when there's a strong attachment to someone or something, and in this case, Eminem could put on for Detroit City and release something fantastic.

The way you are thinking of this 'Detroit' theme for an album, is the same way people think about Eminem and the Illuminati.

@Atone - Because it has the Detroit skyline or some shit on it.

Also, hope this isn't true. A Detroit theme is fucking corny and shows he's truly empty, creatively.

Em has always been about Detroit since, you know, he's from Detroit. He mentions his love for Detroit in his very old songs also, this isn't a new thing.

I don't know how these are signs when we had no legit info of the album yet other then it's coming this year.

And how the fuck would a Detroit album work anyway. That's plain stupid. I rather have Recovery 2 then that.

Is not much about "Detroit" as the city. It's more about what Detroit represents. Detroit used to be one of the world's most important cities, gave birth to fucking giant companies, and then it went to the shitter. It could be an analogy to Em's life, career, drug addiction, place in the hip-hop game, etc.

The amount of conceptual songs Em could create inspired by Detroit's history is huge.

I really hope he doesn't make it Detroit themed, but I also would not mind.

The Spirit of Detroit symbol is the most interesting/mysterious/exciting "hint" we have so far:

Exactly. There's so much Em could do with this. Personally, I'd like a Detroit theme, or a theme inspired by Detroit.

Here's something else:

The band has been wearing these shirts during the shows. Looks like a coat of arms of sorts. On the top right hand corner is the typical ∃, and on the lower left corner is the Detroit Tigers logo.

Edit:

Don't forget how he turned down the role in Elysium because they wouldn't shoot in Detroit. It might not show a Detroit themed album but just reinforces his love for Detroit and he probably could have used that as promotion for his album if it were Detroit themed
