^Yes, but what I'm saying is that LTWYL will have a big influence on MMLP2 first week sales, because it made Em bigger in the pop world.
...as the world turns and I keep growing older
I'll be living this hip hop till hell freezes over...

Em was always big in the pop world. Love the Way You Lie was just his biggest since Lose Yourself. But Em has always been a big star in the pop world, as well as hip hop.

I'd say 700,000 is the over/under. If he does over that, it's a big success in 2013. That would be like 1.4 million in 2000. If he does under, that's a pretty significant drop from Recovery in 2010.

Trimms wrote:Love The Way You Lie was released as a single after Recovery came out so it didn't have an influence on first week sales.. Well, except for the feeeeew Rihanna stans who heard the leak.

Actually, I'd argue that LTWYL had quite an impact on the first-week sales of Recovery. This song really got people talking (mainstream consumers/rihanna fans). The leak of Recovery is an example of a leak doing more good than harm.

Tbh it's not important how many sales he makes. As long as it is good, I'll be happy.

I think he will crack the million.
I asume a lot of his old fans who gave up on him after his comeback will buy this.
I think a lot pf people are interested/curious what MMLP2 sounds like.
Thats why this will sell more than a usual Em album.

Sucks for people who's album came out late in 2012. Kendrick and Macklemore have both passed 1 million, but won't have a chance to lead either year.

Macklemore's album has nearly been out 1 year and has sold 1,042,000. that wouldn't be enough to get the highest selling album of the year anyway. Same with Kendrick who has sold slightly less with 1,020,000.

kendrick's next album will do crazy numbers though i think

I think the MMLP2 will sell at least 900k first week. It really depends on how early the album leaks (which will certainly happen) and collaborations. If the rumours of Adele are correct then that'd help massively considering her last album sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The COD deal could also be a huge help.

what are you talking about? both of their albums have been out for 11 months now and in 11 months they have sold 1,042,000 and 1,020,000. like i said even if they were released january 2013 and had a full year to sell, those sort of figures are not enough to get #1 highest selling album of the year. mmlp2 will obliterate kendrick's and macklemore's album sales in 2-3 weeks alone. you get it?

edit - i misread your post. forgive me
