Stan obviously wins this debate, and always will. But Bad Guy is an incredible song.

The first time I heard the song Stan with the lyrics, man, was I impressed. Like, that's THE song that made me see his geniusness. It was incredible and I don't think a song touched me like this EVER before. I was very sad even though I knew the story wasn't true and I got goosebumps. Stan is awesome as fuck. :flutter:
I was like "how the fuck can he do that :o " And that's when I became an Eminem-fan actually.
I was shocked for days actually. I couldn't get over this masterpiece.

Bad Guy is amazing but you know, I wasn't that impressed. It wasn't as good. It's good, hell, it's very good but it's not as good as Stan, imo.

And no, I'm not just being nostalgic or something like this. :coffee:

Stan pretty easily.

Eminem will never have a track that touches Stan. Not a knock on Eminem, but Stan is way too classic. When I became an Eminem fan, I went back and listened to prior songs he had put out. Stan was the one song that stood out the most for me. The storytelling was incredible, yet he stayed with an incredible flow, delivery and rhyming.

I enjoy Bad Guy, especially the final quarter of the song. But Stan is incredible.

idk that all seemed kind of contrived, it's not like that was his intention when he wrote stan

and acknowledges and says things in a way he really hasn't done before. That second level it operates on
agree

pushes it past just the concept of a "sequel to a story".
meh

i can't really compare one great verse to a masterpiece, probably his best song ever

Stan is a defining moment in hip hop and also stands the test of time as one of the greatest story telling tracks of all time. This was also one of the first times we got a peak at the human reality that is Marshall Mathers.

Bar none.

Dawggg.... WTF. The rest are opinions but really? Stan doesn't have better wordplay than Bad Guy. It just doesn't. :shakehead:
I walk around like a space cadet, place your bets
Who's likely to become a serial killer? Case of tourettes
Fuck, fuck, fuck! Can't take the stress
I make a mess as the day progresses
Angry and take it out on the neighbors hedges like this is how I'll cut
Your face up bitches with these hedge trimming scissors with razor edges
Imagination's dangerous, it's the only way to escape this mess
And make the best of this situation, I guess

It has better lyricism, though.

Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings

But in my head there’s a voice in the back and it hollas
After the track is demolished
I am your lack of a conscience

I’m your time that’s almost up that you haven’t acknowledged
Grab for some water but I’m that pill that’s too jagged to swallow
