why does everyone say STIW is written from Kims perspective

The song is about Kim.

It's a revisit to the MMLP. Kim was a big song, that relationship was a big deal then, probably still is today.

I think it's all about her.

People use that to say it isn't about her. But when asked about Headlights, he wouldn't get into it. A few years ago when asked about Hallie, he wouldn't talk about her, in the MMLP2, he didn't even say Hallie's name, he just said "her" in headlights.

He is trying to get some privacy back in his life, to control what people know, not just let everyone know everything.

November doesn't even have 31 days in it. He just made up a date to not put details of their anniversary on blast.
