Was "Session One" made for Relapse 2?

Postby OutlawƎ » Aug 9th, '14, 22:57

The verse:

"Now I ain't back just for the sake of just sayin I'm back
I could relax but I'd rather stack ammo on tracks
Couple Xanax, light a couple wax candles then black
Out and relapse 'til I yack Jack Daniels and 'gnac
Burp bubbles, attitude's immaturing
Double shot of Bacardi, party, vision is blurring
Whoa-oh, I can't see shit, my words get to slurring
Uh-oh!
You can call me R. Kelly now, you're in
Trouble! What's occurring befo', after, and during the show
Has no bearing on the bad news I'm bearing, whoa
What is it, wordplay? No, I'm pushing you out the do'
So suck my dick on the couch if you wanna cushion the blow
Now stomp your fucking feet 'til you get to squishing a ho
It's pandemonium, standing o when you see him, oh
Damn baby you look good, you're giving me wood
You should pull over like a sweat-shirt with a hood
It's neck work, get her polly on, you and me both
Break bread while I'm copping over this game to pinch a loaf
Now homie who's your favorite pain in the ass?
Who claims to be spitting the same flames as me? I'm Kanye when he crashed
In other words I got the hood on smash like I stepped on the gas
Destroyed the front end
Deployed the damn airbags from the dash
Went through 'em and laughed
Came back an hour after the accident
And bit a goddamn Jawbreaker in half!
So stop faking the funk and start shaking your ass
Slaughterhouse in the house with the Caucasian of rap
And Just Blaze on the track, what's the fuck's more amazing than that?
Slut, answer me that, Royce where you at?"

This, to me sounds like it could've been on R2, especially the underlined part.

Ridaz and Session One sound like Relapse 2 sessions to me. Session One especially.

No.
It was probably made around the same time On Fire was made, so it was one of the first tracks recorded for Recovery.
All the Relapse songs have a pretty distinct sound since they were all made in the same period of time.
Some songs that were going to be on Relapse 2 were probably included on Refill.
Still, he could have recycled those particular lines from one scrapped Relapse 2 track.

I think it is. While the voice is closer to Recovery, the flow is far better lol. Plus Hit me with your best shot was for R2 and he sounds more like he does on his recovery-era Fts.
...the only problem was, my english teacher was a guy...

I actually think that Ridaz was meant for Relapse 2 and Session One was scrapped Relapse 2 track.

Ridaz, Session One, On Fire and So Bad were originally R2 scraps until he remastered them with new beats and a different hook for On Fire

Interesting you bring up the fact that his voice was like it was on Recovery but the flow was much better. That's exactly how I feel. I also feel that way about Ridaz. If Em had followed that path on Recovery it would've been a lot cooler imo.

I always used to think it was his voice that bothered me the most on Recovery (which in a way it is) but it's actually more of his flow. His voice in conjunction with his flow on Recovery was very off-putting to me most of the time. If Em had the flow that he had going on in Ridaz and Session One throughout most of Recovery, I think Recovery would've been a lot better.

In other words, no. Probably made in the transition period, cause the vibe is pretty similar to Ridaz.

This was made probably after Relapse 2 was scrapped and before Recovery was the concept. Songs like this, Ridaz, Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, So Bad, Almost Famous and a few others. And after he probably started with songs and concepts like Cinderella Man, Not Afraid and than went balls to the wall and made songs with Rhianna, Kobe, Pink and Wayne. If he would have stood with that inbetween style "Recovery" or whatever he would have titled it would have been much better.

A track list like this even with a handful of other tracks would've been great.

Cold Wind Blows
On Fire
Ridaz
Going Through Changes
Not Afraid
Seduction
Cinderella Man
So Bad
Love The Way You Lie
Almost Famous
Session One
Untitled

Could even live with WTP and 25 to life. But whatevs.

I always found it interesting that a lot of the people here who dont like his voice on recovery also dislike WTP, is it for different reasons? because his voice is the least loud of any track on recovery, bar maybe Going Through Changes.

Also not sure what you mean by flow. He has a different flow on every song. If you meant his voice sounds the same on all the songs then yeah i guess i could rock with that. Just a little confused.
