Damn, I remember reading this when Relapse first came out and being so worried about buying it :sweating: It's actually quite easy to see why Eminem totally switched his style after 2009 when you see some reviews like this.
Most of the reviews in more recent years have been giving the album a lot more credit (probably due to people realising it was a masterpiece compared to Recovery) but most of the reviews from around that time were just tearing the album apart and ranking it down with Encore....

It's weird how time can be so kind on some things though :flutter:

I went back and looked out for these reviews and old threads on TR and started to feel bad how almost everybody was dissing the fuck out of Relapse. :shakehead:

Which kind of makes it seem like they heard the accent and didnt even truly hear the lyrics lol. So they gravitated to the two songs completely devoid of the accent.

Can't understand that the whole album get's shitted on just because the accent, i mean what kind of problem can people have?

I remember when the album first dropped all my friends who bought it thought Beautiful was by far the standout of the album...even Rap Genius seem to think so.

eh, i wished i agreed with the review more because it was admittedly an awesome attack on Relapse (writing wise, I mean). Boom, boom, boom. Sorta like Maddox if ya catch my drift.
