Eminem is a living legend. His impact and influence is unastoppable and goes far beyond Hip Hop's boundaries. I have yet to find an artist from the 00s who surpass him :coffee: :coffee:

Just because someone is a legend, doesn't mean that they can't be surpassed. That's not what makes you a legend.

in term of influence, impact, sales.... :coffee:

I like Nothing Was The Same better, but it's definitely a good album.

Anyway, off topic.

Although Eminem is top 5 worthy, I honestly don't think he has. People don't really study Eminem because he's so different to everyone else. Jay Z, Nas, Rakim, KRS etc. Are more accessible when studying lyricism, as they're styles, though diverse, are still very in line with Hip Hop. Eminem came into the game dropping fire at pop culture and telling weird stories.

I gotta agree, maybe it's some kind of deep seated, subconscious racism I have. Idk.
hope I don't get a point or anything.

Drake fits every critera for what you just said.

Drake brings back sing-rap back into the mainstream. (Gambino, Chance, Vic Mensa, Logic, G Eazy influenced by Drake)

Drake introduces the Versace flow.

Drake sells 658,000 copies first week in the worst year for record sales on record.

Not saying Drake is better, but that's not a great defence.

Drake sells nothing compared to Em especially worlwide. Anyway, I don't like Drake so Em > Drake :coffee: (I do think Em is way bigger in every critera I said though).

I clearly said I don't think Eminem is better than Drake. I said that Drake filled the criteria to be this decade's big thing (which Drake is, don't deny it. Kendrick as well)

Calm down
. I was talking about the 00s :facepalm and comparing Em to every others artists that came around 00s (hip hop/pop/whatever) and I thought he was the one who made the biggest impact/influence.

Eminem opened the doors for generations of music listeners, and introduced them to hip-hop music. I do not believe a huge portion of these artists would be as huge as they are if it were not for Eminem bringing this music to the mainstream in the way it is now. Not only did he bring an entirely different demographic that would have never listened to rap music, but he popularized it in a totally new way. Thats not to say other rappers werent popular before him, thats definitely not the case.

Eminem is just an all around excellent rapper. It's more difficult to emulate the pinnacle of an art form than it is to imitate certain aspects of what makes an artist appealing. He just does rap better and the spin on it is his personality. I think he's influenced artists in a way that is not as easily seen by pushing them to be better for what they are, not by emulating him. Sounding like a huge Stan right now lol.
