tough one to answer. i mean i guess u can take all the albums and mixtapes dre made and put em against EM's and see who has sold the most. that is if u just want to see the money side of it. u got to understand dre has done things Em will never do. and Em has done things dre never could do. i guess u can't really say one is better than the other. u will have peeps say dre is better or Em is better, but that is just a fan's opinion. they both established themselves in different times. i do bet that dre loves all the money Em brings in for him.

totally agree .. plus dr.dre become more famous cuz of eminem talent .. he show's to the world what a phenomenon he had discovered . so actually they both help each other out ..

I kind of agree with Eminem1976, it depends on which fans perspective you look at it from.
There will always be people who think Dre's better then Slim, and vice versa.
Personally, I think it's a pretty close call. Sure, I listen to Eminem more than I listen to Dre, but in a way I listen a lot to Dre to, considering he produced a hell lot of tracks for Eminem.
Rap wise, I think Eminem surpassed him, but not beat-wise.

It really is in the opinions of the fans because both Dre and Em changed rap, they both sold phenomenonly, and they are both still working hard in music both producing and writing, so preference is all it is.

Dre had his time to shine. He's now all about the money and thats wat i believe coz if he wasn't then i believe he wouldn't concentrate on producing Em's music mostly. I don't think Em has surpassed Dre entirely since Dre does most of the productions on Em's albums.

depends on which area you are referring to?

Is it beat making? then no, Dre is still better, (but it can change, eminem is improving)
Is it rapping? then yes, Eminem was always a better rapper
