I started listening during the promo for ES, so i was about 11. Because before at that age i hadn't stumbled across Eminem, i wasn't a big music fan, i owned no albums or CD's. But Cleaning out my Closet was the first thing ever to really grasp me, and made me want to go to town, and buy the single. It's wierd for me, because while i wasn't a fan during the times of his previous 2 albums, i read up so much it feels like i was.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

I'm sure there are more fans before Encore than after Encore. He was more out in the public back then and grasping the world with whatever the fuck he was doing. I started listening to him when I was 7 (I'm pretty sure). I listened to the MMLP and I absolutely loved Kill You. Most things I understood except that one line about coke in the beginning where I actually thought he was talking about soda haha. So I listened to the entire album (Cept Kim scared the shit out of me) and I grew older buying/downloading his albums and finding all I could from before he was famous and trying to find about his personal life as a child (It fascinates me).

Erm. Thats my story :zipped:

I been a fan sice SSLP & still am a fan (4ever :) ) but there were more fans after he did 8 Mile. People felt they understood him more. As for now...alot of people are saying he fell off. They didn't like Encore & such & now he just seems wierder to them. All my friends & family seem to think so. :(

I've been a fan since SSLP, but I'm still more of an old school Em fan. So when I listen to Em, The Eminem Show and Encore rarely see any play time. SSLP, MMLP, some Outsidaz and other underground/mixtape tracks.

So Chet, how did you come to this board? Just curious...

well I stopped being a fan like a year after Encore. I stopped listening to him cause I lost all my old music. Then I got Curtain Call I'm pretty sure, and loved it. So I was pretty much a huge stan again :o

Huge stan as in Eminem/Dre/50 Cent/G-Unit/D-12 was all I listened too. I hated any other rap pretty much.

So during that time I came here, and slowly started hating eminem. I blame it on the forum. :(

Why don't you stop coming here? Btw are you really a woman? From post i have feeling that you are man :p
Btw I started listening Eminem when first time heard Lose Yourself! Before I hate him coz everybody loves him lol. Now I'm really really big fan and I will be till death!
"Proof, No matter how much time passes, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. If it weren't for you, I would not be where I am today and we both know it. I tried to write song for you but nothing was good enough, so I'm dedicating them all to you-and you'd be happy to know that I spazzed out on 'em gain!I know you wouldn't have it any other way! Fuck 'em all--let's get 'em!
P.S. I'm sober now, I know you'd be proud. I love you Doody, I'll never forget you. Love, Doody "

I always liked his music but didn't pay much attention to him. Became a fan in the last couple of years.

Encore was the first album i ever bought, back when i was 10. I listened to it alot but it eventually got lost in my shelf and i went back to listening to anything that was on the radio. Then about 2 years ago my friends showed me Ready to Die and i loved it and started trying to get as many 90's songs as i could when one day i found Stan. (Which I know isn't a 90's song) And i thought it was indcredible. The story telling was better then anything i had ever heard. Then i went back and got like 5 songs off of SSLP. And one day i was listening to As the World Turns and i heard him say "Yeah bitch you so big you walked into big Tanny's and stepped on Jenny Craig/She picked me up to snap me like a skinny twig/Put me in the headlock, then I thought of my guinea pig" And i was like holy shit hes rhyming two words!!!!! Then i figured out he did it the whole song. After that day i went and got every eminem song i could find.
