Wow, these reviews suck. I can IMAGINE giving it a 3 but 1 or 2? Nah.

2003's The Eminem Show

which followed "The Slim Shady LP" in 1999 and "The Marshall Mathers LP" in 2000, both of which sold 9 million copies

Wow, they should get their facts right.

Of course it's all subjective and what not. But one of them goes as far as to say:

"And at the end of the day, commerce is what Eminem has always really been about."

Now he clearly knows fuck all if he thinks Em's in rap for money. What an idiot.

BAD REVIEW 1 - SPIN - 2 out of 5
BAD REVIEW 2 - SUN TIMES BLOG - 1 out of 5

There's literally no pleasing some people lmao. First they want him to ditch this 'woes me' shtick and get back to lyricism and psycho stuff then when he does that to the max they want the former again.

I'm not being funny but I think if Em was a black emcee they would of rated that 4/5 lmao. I know that sounds stupid but when I see the rave reviews Tha Carter III was getting with Wayne doing the same shit every fucking line and non-effectively with a dud flow... I just can't understand it.

He's done all his personal stories, what do they want him to do. Go over the same stuff forever.

I mean... Fine if you dislike it but ONE out of FIVE. That's the worst possible lmao. That's calling it awful. When the guy even admits Em's still got it lyrically in the review. Ridiculous.

we may not liek each other but i definetly agree with 90% of what u said

A lot of people are going to eat this up and there's a lot that won't, like every album that gets put out you either like it or you don't. Expect a lot more negative reviews because it's a lot easier to bag him now then it was 4 years ago when he was arguably the biggest thing in the music industry.

All his albums have gotten some bad reviews because the dicks reviewing them dont like the subject matter. For him to think Eminem is money driven is madness i dont see that at all really.

dude theres always dumbass reviews on each album he puts out (encore was an exception) , thats why hes the king of controversy and you got bill oreiley followers who have no taste in real hip hop. and even though he cleared his race card in the game, theres still a lot of people who don't like him because they like listening to gangsta black rap and don't like it when someone whos white is actually better than 95 % of black rappers. these reviews dont count for shit, just they never did in the past.

now when a critic talks about an album .. he doesnt talk about it from the point of view of a hip hop listener ..
he talks about it as an album in general ..
in this album eminem had alot of feelings .. but
it was deeper than a normal listener would get ..
his song BFB has a very deep meaning ..
but when a critic looks at it he sees it as a song talking about Mariah Carey who denied being with him ..
but he was lyrically insane on this album i wonder how they gave it a 1 or 2 ..
i mean if they look at it without the lyrical shit (not as a hip hop listener) ..
it will get 2 maybe ..
but with the lyrical it should get 3 or 4 ..
the only album in the past 2 years that can be compared to this album lyrically .. is Killer by tech n9ne .. maybe some more albums ..

I like how everyone always throws Carter 3 in there. Carter 3 was a dope album, but Relapse is a lil better imo.

I also want to make a point that Carter 3 and Relapse are very similar and Eminem on Relapse is similar to Lil Wayne, more lyrical, but they both rhyme about absolutely nothing on a lot of songs and yet still make them entertaining. So if all you Wayne haters just go out and listen to Carter 1-3, Drought 3, the Dedication series, you might like Wayne a lil more. I was a Wayne hater until last year when I actually gave the man a chance and really liked most of his work. So what I'm trying to say is if you like Relapse (where half of the songs are just a combination words), then i don't see how you don't like at least some of Lil Wayne work. I liked Carter 3, and I also like Relapse. So just think about this....

Eminemnow wrote:Well Slimoxshady, I don't agree that Carter III is a good album.

Eminem is always more than just combining words. He always utilizes unparallel wit, tongue in cheek, character play, persona juggling AND PERFECT delivery. A range of flawless flows.

Lil Wayne sounds like a drunk Eminem trying to do an impersonation of himself. I think he's awful and he can't ride a beat. I hated Carter III. He thinks his stuff is so smart when it barely makes me smirk lol. Crap.

"but they both rhyme about absolutely nothing on a lot of songs"

When Eminem is in Shady mode his songs tend to be all over the place with random funny/sick rhymes, thats why Relapses songs seem that way because thats who Shady is.When he rhymes through 1 of his other 2 personas you and i both know he can stay on topic throughout a song.

Lil Wayne can barely do a song and stay on topic for even a few sentences from what iv heard of him,i dont know what Eminem was thinkin saying Wayne`s songs have substance, they dont end of story.

I don't think he said substance, just lyrics. And Lil Wayne's lyrics are often pretty good on terms of funnyness, worldplay etc.
