Proof Eminem recorded "Careful What You Wish" while on drug

Postby da r star » May 15th, '09, 17:10

They called the Slim Shady LP the greatest
The MM was a classic
The Eminem Show was fantastic
But Encore just didn't have the caliber to match it
I guess enuff time just ain't pass yet
A couple more years, that shit will be Illmatic

I don't think there'd be a drug powerful enough to make me think that.

LOOL

It's not out of context. I get what he's saying. That at first critics didn't love his album but for some reason years after they praise them.

This line only makes sense if he's sarcastic about it like : Yeah, you don't like them at first but then they are the shit years later, what's next? in 10 year Encore will be illmatic?

If not, then he's just crazy. I don't know how come, no interviewer has asked him what he thinks of the fact that people shitted on Encore.

I understand what he means, an album can get better after listening to it a few times, for me Encore gets worse with time, I actually liked it when it first came out.

Haha, i Knew by the this thread's title it would have to do with the Encore line.

Anyways, anyone else think these two bonus tracks are better than 80% of Relapse. They got Em in his regular voice (minus the Demon thing) and he's rapping raw like he did on TES/MMLP.

He was metaphorically referring to Illmatic not being classic when it dropped at first, but than years later became one of the best east coast rap albums to hit the shelves.

Both songs are great, but i'm glad they didn't get on Relapse.

He came back with this album, not moaning about everything like everyone expected him to, but with a new energy, a new concept, and the return of Shady. Both those songs if you were going to compare them, stink of Eminem Show. And although i love Eminem Show, he wouldn't have moved forwards, and would be just reliving former success. I know that it's hard for us to understand, because we just want to the music without the experimenting and surprises, but he's the artist, and he's obviously serious about his ideas and progression as an artists through his albums.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

Oh I agree that both songs seem very emotional and are similar to The Eminem Show, but him reverting back to Shady isn't experimental at all (I mean, go back to 99% of his songs from 1998-2001 - it's been done); in fact, it shows lack of growth because he seems unsure of what his fans what to hear. And I'm assuming most the records in Relapse aren't made for him because I really really doubt he wants to look back in songs about raping mannequins.

To me, it doesn't seem like Relapse a 36-year-old wants to make. If anything, songs that are more mature and have meaning (Ex. Deja Vu or Beautiful) are the ones that give off the most passion; and it shows through meaning and his voice.

But anyways, I do agree that these bonus shouldn't be on the album; they don't fit at all.
