Encore: Was it really so bad?, another look at what was
Arguably the worst album Em has put out. But even for Em, thats saying alot. But it did come second for Best Rap Album of the year, Falling to Kayne West's "Graduation". So the question needs to be ask, even if it was Eminem's worse, it might have been better than anything else everybody came out with (Except Kayne).

Negative reviews were given to the album, noteably for having less controversly and being more toned down then Eminems previous albums. Fans saying, maybe he should finally call it quits.

Well lets go back and review the album almost 5 years later

Thoughts: Alright, lets be honest, take Rain Man and Big Weenie, My 1st Single and Crazy in love off the album (because i think the album gets overhated because of these songs) and replace them with the Shady Collectors Edition, suddenly, the view of this album gets a bit better, maybe not as good as his previous albums, but not an embarrasment to put out and probobly would have beaten Graduation as album of the year.

Verdict: Instead of the 3 out of 5 stars (60%) that all that all the reviewers at Amazon have given it (because reviews from actual listeners and fans might be more reliable then some magazine or company) i would give it 3 out of 4 stars or a (75%). Not quite Illmatic but not the Encore that the general public give it credit for .

it was a bad album but it had its good songs...it was just too much of stupid songs n he wasnt as lyrical as he can b...i personally loved Crazy In Love tho...some were catchy which can b good but lyric wise da album wasnt good except for a select few songs...its still da worst em album ever put out...but it still wasnt complete utter shit

Graduation was out in 2007, Encore was out in 04 lol.

I think maybe you're confusing it with Late Graduation (05).

In respects to the album, I loved Crazy In Love and Rain Man is good so I don't have any problem with those tracks. And if you actually listen to My 1st Single, the flow is insane.

Only tracks I have a problem with are Ass Like That, Big Weenie and Just Lose It.

But those were intentionally stupid songs, not as if he tried to make classics and failed lmao.

And - Those bonus tracks were the originally intended tracks he just changed em' cuz they leaked early. So Encore would of been much better if not for the leaking fuckers.

I agree with all you said, but I would add "Puke" to the songs needing the drop, worst song on the album. My First single has some moments of sheer genius on it.

I personally quite like Puke lol.

It's like... It's so over the top and almost so bad it's good. It's like complete overkill but it has a stomping sample and it's almost undeniably catchy and punk... Sort of lol.

I think the reason that everybody hate Encore is becouse this is the album which relaese after TES. And TES was fantastic, everybody expected more from Em. It's true there were stupid songs like Ass Like That, Big Weenie and Rain Man, but there were verry good songs - Mosh, Just lose it, Like toy soldeirs.

crazy in love is fucking immense one of the best on the album. pukes awesome too.

i agree tho encore really isnt bad theres more songs to like than hate imo and every song is listenable
