Eminem had just sold 30 million records. Michael asked me, "Do you like him?" I said, "Yeah, I like him a lot", and his face fell. He went off on Eminem, saying stuff like, "Do you think he could sell out this or that arena around the world?"

I told Michael I love Eminem but he's no Michael Jackson. That made him perk up and feel happy about the situation. He was really concerned with his popularity and needed constant reassurance.


From an article i found when searching for Em news, can't tell how likely it is to be truthfull, reading the rest of the stories i call bullshit, but according to a big MJ fan i know, this is the kind of thing he'd do..

He was probably just dissapointed that yet more people were taking the piss of him.

I know how he feels, if i had half the world making jokes about me and ignoring my music i'd be worried about my popularity too, especially if i used to be the most popular musician in the world, undisputed.

Def. Man...the Man was always sensitive to things like this. He spent a lot of his life worrying instead of enjoying. Thats a fact...
