Real talk : His "Drop The World" verse is his most overrated

Postby da r star » Dec 17th, '09, 03:56

I mean come on, i know everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But I read many time things such as : "oh my god, his best verse this year", "oh i hope R2 is like this".

Seriously, his Forever verse is far more superior. His verse in DTW is saved by his flow. Cuz when it comes to multis there's only some bits and there of it. Other than that, his rhyme scheme is straight foward.

This verse is nothing compare to anything on Refill. I feel like some of you get way too excited with any new em song.

Its not about Multis lol. This and Forever are the best things he's put out in 2009 outside of the warning. Fuck the serial killer shit this is what i want to listen to.

Amadeo wrote:his multis in Drop The World are actually very good.. wtf are you talking about

i swear to god, won't spare the rod, i'm a man of my, word, so your fuckin' heads better nod, i'ma fuck around in this bitch & roast every body

the way he enunciates 'man of my' sounds the same as all those multis as well

the only problem i have with the verse is the erratic choppy flow

i agree on the chopy flow... but i think its a good verse, definently not his best... i think multis are cool and all but u could also have a sick verse without them...
be the best you can be, and if thats not good enough for people... than fuck em

I mean Forever is awesome, I've listened to that verse a lot, but it doesn't compare to most of relapse lyrically, put delivery wise it's crazy. But just this here is better than DTW :

Back into the game and they know
Rap will never be the same as befo'
Bashing in the brains of these hoes
And establishing a name as he goes
The passion and the flame is ignited
You can’t put it out once we light it

It's not all about mutlis...the verse goes hard as fuck thats all that matter for me. It also has aspects which are "normal" to everyday life unlike most of the verses from Relapse/Refill.I kept playing it back to back to back like 20 times when I first heard it and rarely ever do that with any songs.

That's what makes Eminem so appealing and great IMO is that, aside from Relapse, his albums have a lot of relate-able content. The fact that this verse has that is a relief which hopefully signify that R2 will be serious and emotional and listeners can relate to it.

Refill has great tracks on them. You got to realize though that "drop the world" has so much passion and fire through em's verse. I think em gives sublimal messages to rappers who ever try to call out his name ( Ross, Gucci, exc.). im tellin you Relapse 2 is gonna be some dirty, grimmy, emotional eminem at his best shit. the dudes at the top of his game i believe

the whole Drop The World song is overrated, so because it has Eminem AND Lil Wayne, lots of people automatically think it's hot?! imo it's just alright, nothing they say in the song really catch my attention ;) But I like Em's voice & flow in this a lot though

btw Forever as a whole is overrated too, it's an average track with 2 horrible verses from Kanye & Wayne, only Drake's verse is good and Em's verse is superior.

Word :smoking:

...to both those points.

And i like the way he flows kinda choppy, this fits with the one verse feature shit like this and forever, kinda like what he did on There They Go some years back and that was fire too. He makes himself shown by his flow on this shit, idk it is opinion and this song is fucking dope :worship:

There always has to be some 1 complaining about some aspect of Em: he will never be able to satisfy his entire legion of fans at the same time. This entire song was hot, proabably one of the biggest songs of the year already; Weezy was nice and Eminem killed. And its great to hear Em over some new production as well :y:

Y are so many people hating on Em's melody at the beginning of the song?? He executed it brilliantly as well if you ask me.

that's my opinion, respect it plz ;) Those collabs have nothing on classics Em's collabs like Forgot about Dre, Renegades, Guilty Conscience.. Both sound like something you'd hear on radio but I'm sure won't be bumping that 10 years later or even next year.
