So Many Opinions

Postby nkjordan23 » Jun 9th, '10, 21:52

Not sure if anyone is with me on this, but I think the real sign of this being such a well received album or possible classic if you will is the fact that there are so many different opinion son the best/favorite song on the album. There is a huge appreciation for Em's willingness to listen to his fans and take this thing in a different direction.

It's exciting to see despite the negative posts occasionally that everyone has a different favorite and in addition, posts the lyrics to back them up. There are so many clever lines in this album. Lines that honestly give me chills. The fact that he is so in tune with his emotions and so willing to get personal when it came to his struggles. Man...it's as real as it gets.

I can only hope this album does as well as I expect it to at this point. I expect great reviews and Album of the Year. Nobody can touch this fine piece of work this year.

agree
I'm only entertaining you
My goal is to stimulate, making you high
And take you and I
To a place you can't see
But I believe you can fly
I don't mean nobody harm, I'm just partying
I'm not your dad, not your mom, not your guardian
Just a man who's on the mic
So let me entertain you...

I liked Distant Relatives, but Recovery is definitely the better album. The only songs from DR that I'll be playing over and over are Nah Mean and We Will Continue. The rest is nice but forgettable imo.

Nas' rhyming on the album was incredible, far better than Em's.

Concept wise Recovery takes it, but DR just keeps on giving. I'm starting to get bored of Recovery, but DR I'm yet to.

DR gives you a great first impression but the music doesn't feel as powerful anymore on subsequent listens. Recovery's a different story though (you always find shit that you missed before every time you listen to it).

Both are great albums though.

I just listened to Recovery again and the shit is really growing on me. I was starting to get bored of it but when I went away and listened to something else, then just came back to it and it seems so much better.

I'm starting to actaully like Seduction...
