what is going on with the promotion!? Em hasn't been any where in the U.S. I know it's still a week left, but there's nothing. Then they move the release date one day and nobody even knows it. Another thing that pisses me off is 'Slant' magazine gave Recovery a 1.5 out of 5 and that shit really pisses me off. I mean, they gave MMLP a 1.5, but this shit is annoying. Thank Me Later got a 4 outta 5! i have a feeling Drake is gonna sell more first week than em.

Im tellin u man, Drake is gonna do like 500 to 600 thousand. Em might only do 300 to 400 thousand just cause of the lack of promotion

and Thank Me Later has better promotion???? Other than the few singles i have heard nothing...of course he gets more radio play but his audience are the people who arent going to buy the cd. There is no way he outsells Recovery with that P.O.S. Once No love is officially released as a single anyone who doesnt know about the album will.

Relapse did 608,000 cause it was EM's return album, it only leaked a week before, it had 4 singles out before the release, and it ha a lot more promotion in the U.S. including Vibe and XXL magazine covers.

That review is a piece of shit.

Slant hate Eminem. MMLP 1.5 / 5? Give me a fucking break. They lose all credibility right there. Regardless of whether you LIKE the album, if you can't recognize the groundbreaking artistic value in it then you shouldn't be reviewing music.

Those, along with a few others are so sick of the praise Em gets that they now try and tear him down whenever possible. Creating issues that aren't there, grossly misunderstanding things (probably intentionally) and totally distorting flaws.

As for Drake doing 500k, get real man. 50 Cent did 872k 1st week with his debut, that was in 2003. That was with three huge singles (two of which were #1's!) and the backing of two living legends. Drake's singles ain't broke the top ten and he's in 2010 where sales are beyond stagnant for most. B.o.B had major co-signing, a lot of buzz and no.1 and no.2 singles. And he did 84k 1st week.

Em only did 283k 1st week with SSLP back in 99'. Drake would be lucky to break that. I reckon he'll do like 150k.

As for Em, Recovery will be huge regardless. People follow him religiously. Its buzz alone made many forget about Drake. Em will do 500k + easily. Especially with the next single. They will probably do all the US promotion this week, they leave it till last minute to create a feeling of frenzy and surprise.

LMFAO@ Brittney, bitch looking worse than a chupacabra mixed with a broken down coyote. You're disgusting ugly, so ugly in fact, my brain simultaneously exploded while processing how bitterly grotesque you look. I would much rather stick ice picks into the walls of my cranium, then stick my dick into your quagmire of a clitoris. You're what would happen if a sperm whale mated with a Godzilla fish..

I just read their MMLP review too and it's abysmal. The person who reviewed it (SAL CINQUEMANI) also gave Encore 2.5/5 and Relapse 2.5/5. So he thinks those two albums are better than MMLP apparently.

Also, his review was maybe the most shameful misunderstanding of the album I have ever seen. With the cheek to imply all of Eminem's achieved satire was accidental and that he is genuinely homophobic, misunderstanding so many levels of the irony on the album as ignorance or petulance.

Seriously dreadful review. Fact that he even brought up the homophobic issue with such angst there makes me think he himself is gay anyway though. And that's probably why he gave the album the rating he did, going out of his way to jade his own view on its artistry. I've seen so many gay people still not grasp... I mean, my goodness. If anybody at this point still thinks Eminem... Actually, for that mater, if anybody EVER thought he was genuinely homophobic they're a fucking lost cause.

Which is to be expected but for a person of such a limited sector of society to be in that position, reviewing art which they don't even begin to understand. Despite stretching their vocabulary to try appear that they do. What a fool.

with Lady Gaga promotion Eminem would destroy the million mark with Recovery
i just don't think it's possibly anymore with him pretty much selling the album independently
i'd be surprised at anything over 600k tbh...but def. no less than 400k
