Of course he will are you serious.
Drake's is a DEBUT. 50 Cent's debut is the biggest rap debut ever and it did 872k in the 1st week. That was in 2002 with two #1 singles, #3 single and the major backing (and production) of two living hip-hop legends.
Drake, is in 2010 (where sales are beyond lacking) and his singles haven't even craked the top ten. Not to mention the fact his buzz is not close to a 50 Cent buzz. Some people think it's a lot bigger than it is but he's really not buzzing majorly inside hardcore rap or even just rap itself. It's not like the guy is a revolutionary lyricist or bringing anything that new to the table.
B.o.B had #1 and #2 singles, is far more original, musical and compelling, had major co-singing and only did 84k his first week. And Em only did like 260k back in 1999. I'd be surprised to see Drake do anymore than 150k.
As for Em with Recovery - He sold 608k 1st week with Relaspe. People keep saying 'oh but it was his comeback album' but don't seem to recognize the fact that hardly anybody outside of his own fanbase and music critics knew or were that focused on it. Em is a very big name always so of course he was on the radar but the album was basically a hardcore horrorcore album and had zero mainstream appeal. And it leaked 12 days early so people knew that before they bought it. So for it to still do 608k is amazing.
But look at Recovery in comparison. "Not Afraid" DEBUTED at #1 and is still staying strong, its video has had 17 million views in a fucking week, the likely 2nd single will be the Rhianna one and is looking to be huge too. And the album also features Pink and Lil Wayne and has major major buzz from rap fans due to its lyricism and themes. I'd say that Recovery will do around 800k and Drake's won't even do a quarter of that.
