Timeline of Recovery Tracks

Postby MikeNUFC » Jun 20th, '10, 22:03

Interested in seeing when each track was made and the order they would go in. I remember something similar being done with Relapse.

Well it's obvious that 'On Fire' and 'So Bad' were the first 2 tracks made, and that Not Afraid was made 3 months before it was released, so February-ish.

Anyone have any idea of the others, just to get a picture of when each one was made.

So Bad
On Fire
Cold Wind Blows
No Love
You're Never Over

Idk if this is right but I think i read somewhere that Love the Way You Lie was probably one of the last tracks made for the album..could be wrong though.

maybe Seduction was close to Not Afraid due to the producer so maybe if we can see how he progressed from producer to producer we might get an idea of when the tracks were made

The hidden track (Untitled) also sounds like Relapse 2 material, so I would guess that was done early

So Bad -> On Fire -> W.T.P. - > 25 To Life - according to his voice similarity with relapse, imo

I was thinking about that as an early track as well, but then we didn't hear anything about Havoc production until the last minute. Of course, that could mean nothing, but you'd have expected to hear something earlier.

Not Afraid and Seduction are both fresh, the voice is quite strong
but you never know... Marshall is a motherfuckin' genius in changing his voice on different instrumentals

Anyone else agree that Cold Wind Blows would have been an early one? Especially since JB was one of the first producers he started to work with.

Yep. I think he got in the studio with Dre, then Mr. Porter, then Just Blaze...and then just went crazy on nearly every beat being sent to him. So that's the most likely order he recorded the songs.

yeah as it seems absent of any real co-ordination to the the theme of the album

I wouldn't have expected to have heard anything earlier, no. Em doesn't talk too much until the albums about to come out.
