Has your opinion about Recovery changed?

Postby OMEGA » Jun 25th, '10, 04:58

The first time I heard the album I was like "OMG this is godly". A couple hours passed and I was like "Hmmmm, am I overreacting? But then I gave it another listen and was like "Yeah, this is godly." Rinse and repeat.

Now that I have the album on my hands, I've been listening to it and I'm amazed just how good it is. Even songs like Cinderella Man and Love the way you lie (which I liked, but weren't my favorites) are now awesome and can't stop listening to them.

For me, a lot of album lost their magic after a few listens, but like pretty much all Em albums, this one gets better and better the more you listen to it.

What about ya?

I liked the album from the first listen, but each day I have a new favorite on repeat.

Um. Well on the very first listen I was just like OMG OMG OMG like most people because it's NEW Em material, it pretty much always feels that way to me.

Then... Well at first I actually didn't like so many hooks being done by other people so that pissed me off but then when I listened to the songs over and over I fully appreciated everything.

I immediately knew it wasn't his best for me though. But did consider it a classic after a few proper listens. And I probably still do, my opinion certainly hasn't dampened, there's basically no true weakspots in the album. Only songs that aren't as good as each other.

When I first heard it I was rating it a 3/10 or so, I really wasn't into it that much. After buying though and listening to it properly I'm loving most songs now. The songs which I still can't really get into are:

Won't Back Down (all right)
W.T.P.
You're Never Over
On Fire (all right)

Yeah, i'm not crazy about Wont Back Down and the chorus of "Your never over" (as intentionally bad as it is I always skip it) Also not crazy about untitled and the ridaz bonus track.

untitled is amazing, but don't even have the other two bonus tracks on my computer. at first i loved all the songs except W.T.P, On Fire, and Won't Back Down... but now they grew on me, so there's no song i skip whenever i'm listening to the album

The albums improved as the weeks have gone on.

Started of as a 7/10, gone up to an 8ish.

I knew it was a classic before I even finished listening to the whole album, I had to pause it here and there cuz I had good music overload... That night it leaked was a great night! I got so high and sat in my spec v and bumped it for like 3 hours lol.

Now that the dust has cleared I can honestly say I feel the same, I was afraid it would be like relapse and die out quickly. But it didn't, the cd won't leave my deck for a long time that's for sure.
