"97' Bonnie and Clyde" or "Kim".
Both master-class examples of taking ideas to the extreme, but well.
Woody Allen said something to the effect of "the best an idea gets is in your head", then it's just about how much you ruin it. Well with those two songs and I suppose "Stan", his storytelling trio of ground-breaking songs, it really feels like he replicated the ideas almost as well as could be done.
But if I had to pick one I'd say "97 Bonnie and Clyde". To actually think of portraying the story to the listener whilst portraying it to another character in real-time, but his daughter... So in baby-talk and making the baby talk a way of disguising implications of murder haha, it's just genius.
Especially in the sense that, adults listening to it will obviously know what he means when he's giving false explanations to say the blood on Kim's shirt and he knows that but just the idea he's actively saying that to his daughter in the song and putting the listener in that situation... And having them 'in' on the joke. It's pure brilliance as an idea itself, then his execution of it takes it to a whole new level.
"Criminal" is a very worthy mention to. Certainly one of his most creative also.
