If it were 2002, How much would Recovery Sell?

Postby Shady50 » Jul 5th, '10, 07:42

K say that it were 2002 back when albums still sold. What would 741k be equivelant to back then? I'm guessing at least 1.3 million.

Get Rich was kinda wierd because it pushed 800k it's first week, then another 800k the second week which is pretty damn impressive. :8)

Same as TES, just because it'd be Eminem's next album following the MMLP. I'm actually not sure if Without Me or Not Afraid would be the stronger first single in the scope of 2002. Obviously today Not Afraid would shit all over Without Me, but in 2002 that comedic/celeb-bashing formula was the shit. Then again, Not Afraid is a motivational anthem like Lose Yourself, and Lose Yourself was popular as fuck back then too, so yeah... It'd sell like The Eminem Show.
Caution to the wind, complete freedom. Look at these rappers, how I treat 'em, so why the fuck would I join 'em when I beat 'em?

If eminem promoted recovery better, imo it would have sold 800k+, but yeah the music industry is in a crisis, the computing decreased the album sales...., if recovery would have dropped in 2002 it would have sold more than 1 million cause of eminems popularity back then and because in that period of time the illegally download (torrent etc..) wasn't dominating...
