Dre's The Planets

Postby Never_Enough » Aug 26th, '12, 13:17

What about this?
I was looking on Dr. Dre's page on wikipedia and I saw this "The Planet" in his discography.
It would be great to hear music from Dre about every planet in the solar system :D

But I guess this project is in the same place as Detox right? :(

I was pumped to hear about this when it first made news years ago. I was hoping it wouldn't turn into another "Detox" type deal, but hope has been lost, lol. I hope he ends up releasing it, should be nice.

I doubt that it's something that will actually get made.

It was more of a concept, from what I understand. I don't think he ever committed to making it. It's just something that he thought about doing, and since Dre hasn't put out an album in over a decade, people latched onto what his assistant said in a book about Dre having the idea to do it.

When Dr. Dre first announced Detox, way the fuck back in 2001 (lol) it was suppose to be a concept album about a hitman and Denzel Washington was gonna be on the skits as the narrator.

Why am I bringing this up??

Dre comes up with alot of ideas and then decides not to do them, I would guess this project is one of them.

Add this one to the list of never realized Dre projects, it will be in good company

Chairmen of the board (With Timbaland)
Helter Skelter (With Ice Cube)
Not These Niggaz Again (NWA Reunion)
Break Up 2 Make Up (With Snoop Dogg)
Oh My God (Rakim album fully produced by Dre)
