What They Died For - I loved it, something about the sound of the guitar sounds really cool haha. kinda reminds me of talkin 2 myself, but better.

Dark Side Of The Moon - greatjob on the piano, you captured the 'dark feeling' really well. also, the bass fits in perfectly with the piano.

Immortal - what's this from? it reminds me of a wedding or something haha, but I feel like the drums don't suit the melody too well. they clash a little bit.

Alone On A Valentine's Day - not too big on this one, it feels a bit too simple to me. the drums feel a bit low quality, i dunno why.

Kill Anyone - love this one, it has that action movie trailer feel to it. definitely would be a good song when someone raps over it.

Rest In Pieces - I like this one, the Queen beat and the catchy piano melody is good. the piano reminds me of fat lip by sum 41, but that's a good thing cause i used to rock that song back in the day.

Madness - i like. it has that mysterious feel to it. when i was listening to it i pictured a movie where a guy was trying to escape from a mental asylum or some shit. maybe cause I just watched shutter island but yeah. good beat.

Strings Of Doom - the name tells all really. it reminds me of mario kart, playing on one of bowser's maps haha. I like it. the strings really do have that doom/madness feel to it haha.

Restless - love this one. I like the heavy drums, and the guitar or whatever it is reminds me of a D-12 song. this could easily be on a d12 album, it's really well put together.

Meteora - I like the rock feel to it, but I think the guitars need to have more flair to them. either increase the volume or add distortion or whatever it's called.

Nightmare - video didn't load for me lol

The Sound (Outro) - really good. the first part is really laid back and chill. the second part is sick, the melody is catchy as fuck and it sounds simplistic in a good way. the third part is sick, what's that solo from? I want to say either One or Eruption. One? either way, it's really good. the fourth part feels like an end to a 1960's movie, but that's a good thing. it felt like a good wind down song. then the last part is good, it feels like a good marching song, when the song or movie is winding down.

Black Samples - i love this one. it feels like an old nintendo game with a new twist. that one piano part sounds like that ringtone that everyone has. it was in tony hawks project 8 if you don't know what i'm talking about haha.

Overall it was really well done, I enjoyed it. I've never done this before so I have no idea if my feedback was useful or not, but whatever :y:

oh okay it's working now. i don't think the notes are held long enough, because that staccato sound doesn't seem to work well with the drums all the time. but other than that, the word nightmare fits, in a good way.

ok bro, I listened to this a couple times. I noticed a couple things that might help you for future beats.
you have the exact same problem in every beat:

1.- you need to mix them, and if you do mix them, you need to mix them better. There is no apparent EQ, or a compression that might boost low frequencies without having distortion.
2.- Your drums are too plain, its almost the same pattern all over again. except on Meteora, which was just a simple 4 sequence loop, you need to extend them be more creative. The drums on a beat are one of the most important things for a beat, because they are the flow. they are the power.
(make sure they are on a volume along the rest, not above,) add more kick to the kick. more low power.
3.- IT IS FUNDAMENTAL!!! to have a bass line on absolutely every beat you make. you'll see, open up Fl, add a deep baseline to any of your beats and tell me what u think. (I know Nightmare had one, but it had another important issue) EVERY beat should have it, unless its absolutely necessary for the beat not to.
4.- you need to learn a bit of harmony, some times when you add extra instruments to the sample they sound of of harmony, like out of tune you know?, (like on that Nightmare beat), you need to understand notes and how they affect other parts of the beat.
5.- You are focusing too much on the sample detailing, being creative on the sample and adding special things to a beat, thats good, but that is taking you away from focusing on making the entire beat sound perfect. You have a very good bank and choices of songs to sample, use that to your advantage, dont let them be the beat, try to incorporate them in less obvious ways.
6.- You are using short loops most of the time. take the enough time to focus on fabricating an entire piece to use as a loop... not just 5 keys together.

thats what I can think at the top of my head. remember man, use a bassline all the time and be more creative on the drum patterns. that will give you an extra push for quality; mix your beats, focus on every instrument and drum. Ask people to judge your melodies, if someone detects a note out of tune fix it before you release it.

great job. my favourite was Immortal.

Well I wrote up mine before reading this, pretty much sums it up!

but heres my take on the tracks.

1 Liked it, needs more layers tho.
2. not feelin this one, just didnt go together. mash of instrument s playing in different keys and mifferent melodies
3 not bad, liked it. You chop stuff up a lil to much in this but it works.
4. This one was decent. Tho it is a tad boring. Kinda cheezy as well.
5. Liked it untill i herd the organs shit in the back round, threw off the beat imo.
6. This one was pretty sick. Your layers all flow nicely, the piano is realyl sick in this one. I would deff spit on it.
7. Madness, eh it was ok not really my cup of tea. It is structurally sound tho.
8. Again this one dosnt really sound great because it's a mash of instruments. pretty chaotic, but not in a good way.
9. decent, liked the horns and bass. hook was cool to imo.
10. corny guitar lol, but the beat is nice for the most part
11. didnt like it, it was a nightmare of a beat.... lol

So basically you have skills , but you seem pretty new to the producing game. I was there once and the thing that got me better was practice, and improve on the last track. You will be dope in no time.

You need to revamp you kits, samples and loops cuz alot are corny. Need real time instruments and loops of instruments being played.

When going into the beat making process have an idea of what its going to be before you construct it. For instance, I collect almost all the sounds before i start constructing just so I cantry different combos while muting others. Make sure you have a melody and a bass line and the rest as just "background music" so to speak. But you gotta make sure there is harmony, not just a mess of music.

mess with the effects more, and keep adding layers even if you think its so faint no one can notice. It will tie the song together if placed properly.

Drop the beat in certain parts, add echo so when it drops it sounds pro. Need to work a lil on your tansitioning between verse and hook, and intro to verse. It's tough but keep experimenting.

Sorry im just blurtin out things i noticed off the top of my head lol. Just keep practicing and everything will follow threw! You got skills homie keep at it.

01. Dope. Reminds me of mid '90s hip hop.
02. This one's ok, very simple, dark, but needs a little more to it for me to feel it.
03. This one's ok, reminds me of British or music people would play at a dining hall, no offense lol.
04. Could be a good beat, just need a little more to it. I like the drum pattern in this. Keep working on this one.
05. This one's ok, but the sounds are different, like the background beat is different then the instruments you hear in the beginning, try to make it all one sound.
06. Nice war song, reminds me a little bit like Til I Collapse, in the tempo of it. Good, not great, but better then the previous 4 beats.
07. This is nice, beginning introduces the beat, surprises you cause the tempo changes, but this could be a good storytelling type beat.
08. Not bad. A little dark but it could be good.
09. This is dope. This reminds me of Old Time's Sake, idk why, but I like it.
10. Nice scratches in the beginning. Decent grunge beat, but ok rap beat.
11. This is nice in a way. Could be a good storytelling song, like for an artist like Nas, but needs like one more instrument & it's set.
12. Nice beat, especially for an outro, you went out with a bang :y:.
13. This is a sick beat, and a dope sample to use for it.

Nice beats though man, thanks for posting, and good work.

01. Got huge goosebumps. All I can say about this piece is that it's one of your best songs of all time.
02. Simple but effective. The snare is brutal and the pianos made me sway left and right.
03. I know a lot of people hate this but I think this would go well for a psychotic rap song haha.
04. Pretty bad man..I don''t usually hate stuff, but this is boring bro. You know me dude, I only hate something if it is truly bad. I'd still rap to it though.
05. Starts off shit but then it gets awesome. Those weird out of tune noises make the beat sound really dark.
06. Wonderful track overall. Nice sample of Queen there.
07. Very nice beat..I can see myself cyphering to this.
08. Another brilliant track...The snare is great and so is the orchestra.
09. Reminds me of a Dre style beat. Very good Hip-Hop beat.
10. Loving the homage to Linkin Park and you pulled off the scratching nicely. Pretty simple beat though.
11. Very spooky intro then my ears got treated to some bullshit...No good dude..But the chorus sounds good.
12. Fucking brilliant tune. Nothing wrong with this one at all.
13. One of my favorites on the album...Defiantly single material.

Overall, this is another classic. Well done.

All the beats I've heard on here are dope, and you def have the potential to grow and become really dope.

What they died for, alone on valentines day, forsaken, kill anyone, restless, strings of doom, and of course the sound were my favorites.

I like the simplicity mixed with cool intros and overall great choices of intruments.

Keep working hard bro, its def paying off :worship:

Postby i4ill » Apr 18th, '11, 10:50

Hey there...I'm returning the feedback, thanks for taking some time and leaving a feed on my song.

01. What They Died For:
I liked the intro. Interesting instruments used here, I'm not quite sure how I feel about the guitar-like sound. The melody is cool, it works with the drums you chose and the whole shit actually is very well blended. I liked the thick baseline as well, that was a nice touch. Overall, this is not my style but I think you did a good job and many people would love to spit to this shit.

02. Dark Side Of The Moon:
I like the dark vibe to this. The piano is too low though, I think if you went with a high key it would've been better. The mixing could need some work here and the melody can be built bigger. I liked the background vocal-like strings and the drums were on point too. Overall, you need to finish this and do some minor changes here and there and you might end up with something dope.

03. Immortal:
The orchestral instruments are superb! This shit is unique man...Haha . I like how classical music goes smoothly with the hip hop drums. The transitions are great as well, and the melody is fascinating...I'm usually a sucker for more melancholic shit but for some reason I'm loving what I hear here. This is definitely the best beat I've heard so far, I might use it you don't mind. Great job with this shit.

I'll feed more later...I subscribed to your channel. Keep it up.
I'm the letters that alphabet never heard about, the words that the lines couldn't manage to gather, the lines that the verses failed to comprehend, the verses that no song would dare to embrace, the song that no pen would ever write down.

i know i said id check it and leave feed, but i forgot lol got busy...ill check more of these tommorow seeing as how i just had a Music filled weekend...a break is at hand.

first beat sounded dope, i think axe might be right..You should get something called Youwashock....its a better quality button..Literally a VST plugin..very simple to use..It gives more power to your Instruments..as well the baasline thing is big too..<>not required all the way through..but to make some parts stand out, or even a nice buildup before chorus

This is pretty good mate, some nice pieces such as alone one valentines day, the first one and forsaken. The quality needs a bit of improvement. Your style seems unique a lot different to what I expect. Try adding a more orchestral feel to some of the beats that would really increase the capabilities and attention span. At times they felt somewhat plain and boring, a nice violin playing or a heavy dark thumping piano melody would really have added more to the beats. Still a good job just throwing some tips. :y:
