Lyrics

Yo,

It’s Midnight EyeZ,

Apologies for the wait on this one,

But to all the people who hung around for it,

You know I appreciate you all…

Yo, yo,

(Verse 1)
Three years in the making, almost felt like my spirit was breaking,
Now the position is here for the taking,
Fuck sitting and waiting, it’s time to make a serious statement,
And stick a finger up to fears that I’m facing,
Reasons to leave the pad alone and none to put my pen to it,
I represent the people around me who ever gave a shit,
Ninety per cent of my friends don’t even know what friendship is,
And only wanna help me when they’re wreaking half the benefits,
So to hell with it, writing lyrics is a requisite,
I demonstrate the struggles of my brothers so I’d never quit,
At times I really felt like it, but then I’d get a kick,
From hearing the boom bapping beats and stick my head in it,
Had a little writer’s block but now I’m in no frame of mind to stop,
Not until I set the scene alight and blot,
The darkness out and carve a crown coz Hip-Hop’s what I’m living for,
Given all I’ve got to rap and still willing to give it more,

(Chorus)
And I ain’t taking shit lying down, not until the Devils strike me down,
I’m a keep fighting until the fire’s out,
Without a slice of doubt I’ll murder every verse I hit,
I’ll thirst for adversative words until the curse is lift,
If there’s something I can write about, I write it down,
Never with a slice of doubt and not until the Devils strike me down,
Will I ever spit a verse that’s shit, I’m certain when the curtain lifts,
I’ll murder any track and show you faggots what my purpose is,

(Verse 2)
I remember the days of writing shit, escalating beef just for the hype of it,
Bigging up my boys in every rhyme I’d spit,
Shouting out the postcode I resided in, in spite of it,
Being a shit estate I always said I’d give my life for it,
Fight on the frontlines for it and die for it, walking with a knife and shit,
What a simple minded and misguided kid,
Everyday I tried to fit myself in with the violent cliques,
And had to prove myself to them and spitting bars provided it,
But everything I spat was whack influenced by my habitat,
Bragging about my Nikes when I could barely pay for Adidas,
What kinda crap was that, had to realise ideas I dabbled at,
Had got me acting like a massive cat,
Called it quits and that was that, but then I found my feet,
And now the beat’s the only thing my anger’s ever channelled at,
And it’s mad because I wrote like that to earn respect before,
But nowadays I see this type of song-writing impress 'em more,

(Verse 3)
I can take it or leave it; I know it takes a lot of faith to believe it,
But I’ll do it for my sake and achieve it,
This time I ain’t displaying a weakness, I’m slaying my demons,
And taking everyday I make as I see fit,
I’m basing every judgement on the way I perceive it,
Coz in the past I’ve put a lot of trust in mates and they’ve breached it,
Too many people snaking and scheming, chasing a dream,
They simply can’t fulfil by weighing and dealing,
I’ll admit I done some playing and sneaking, and I’ve taken a beating,
Then spent a couple days shaking and wheezing,
Had my fair share of suffering, at times I was struggling,
You were older than I am now back then and you’re still husteling,
Get your fucking act together; coz nothing in your rap is clever,
When every bar involves capping a random fella,
Get back to stacking cheddar, and leave the rap to me,
Coz rapidly I stab a beat and cause the track a casualty,

That beat is godly. Props to Unbeatables.

I loved the way you tweaked the pronunciation of "Adidas" to rhyme with "Habitat" I was reading along and when you said "habitat" on the previous line then I saw "Adidas" before you said, I was like "nah..." then you said it that way and then I was like :confusion: Awesome lol

Anyway, when your flow started on the first two bars I didn't think it would work but you pulled it off spectacularly, you did great dude. Lyrics were epic, really great multis in there.

The chorus was a bit crammed, but the internal rhymes that just slipped off the tongue made it listenable.

Good shit, keep droppin' and I'll keep listening! :y:

Haha, that's how Adidas is pronounced in England lol...

Yeah the chorus was a bit crammed I agree, at the time I had the 3 verses wrote I hit writer's block where I had an idea for a chorus and the first, second, fifth and sixth bars for the chorus in my head, and they just WOULD NOT go away lol...So I just stuck with it and that's why the third, forth, seventh and eighth bar of the chorus seem so crammed in lol...

But cheers man, appreciate it!!!...

I can't believe this only has one reply!

This was surprisingly good. I was genuinely impressed. Your flow is great, perfectly fits the beat. And your voice is fine as well. As for the lyrics, I loved em, really good shit. A lot of multis in the verses that fit together and don't interrupt the flow of it. I can't fault this, I enjoyed it. Only thing i'd say is the hook is a bit too fast and sometimes the beat eats some of the words and makes it a bit hard to understand. Aside from that, enjoyed it.

And it’s mad because I wrote like that to earn respect before,
But nowadays I see this type of song-writing impress 'em more

^ good shit.

I would assume that's actually not a contrived effort to pronounce it that way, but more just the way he says it. It's certainly the way it's pronounced where I live.

Another track from you that I enjoyed from the start till the end. The beat is sick, so is the flow. Lyrically you have slaughtered every song that I've heard from you.The way you pack the Multis in your Lyrics is amazing. The only thing that I felt that could have been better is the hook, it was too long. Somehow it could have been just 2 Bars that is sung over and over for the time slot allotted for it.I'm loving your work and hard efforts that you put behind you Music. Keep at it and drop more.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it...Every word is humbling and reminds me that £0 made is not a big deal when people enjoy listening to my work as much as I enjoy making it...

The Unbeatables killed that production. Love the melody and snares on that shit. You had a ton of good multis, and the flow made it sound really good. I liked where you went with the hook, I liked how you sped up for it just as the beat did. I feel the vocals were a bit quiet, but other than that I really enjoyed everything else.

Cheers dude, appreciate it...I didn't want the vocals too high but now enough people have noticed it and said something about it so I think I'ma just raise em a tad for the album release...
