NEW STEVE SPAG - SPACESHIP (Prod. By TGB)

Postby Steve Spag » Jan 2nd, '12, 16:08

Here's my latest track I released last night incase you've been sleeping under a rock. Again, I mixed this one on my own, I think/hope you can tell that I've been improving on that end of things, I've been putting in a lot of work. The sampled quotes are from the new movie "Another Earth" which is pretty fascinating if you're into that kind of thing. Anyways, all feedback is appreciated. Shout out to TGB aka Scrubz again for another hot beat, dude's crazy talented!

Lyrics;
i'll hop in my spaceship and cruise the galaxy
i got the special tools, my human anatomy
is fuelled like a battery, an alien hybrid
i got this universe mapped down to a science
i travel through wormholes, i lay on the comets
i play with the asteroids and you ain't gon' stop it
nah this ain't a rocket, it's superior technology
and you'd need a lobotomy to fathom my horror dreams
but you can not corner me, i'll go into hyper speed and blast away
past the fake wannabes who want my knowledge ascertained
well f*** that, i'll leave their bodies torn ass to cheeks
stacked and tagged in the hospital when they pass away
i'm a sick twisted schmuck, now i'm filling this blunt
you want some green? well you're all out of luck
'cause you can't find me, i'm past cloud 9 now
i'm way too high and i ain't climbin' down

you know what's funny to me?
my curiosity ain't even peaked yet and i'm jumping these leaps
i'm running circles around you, or better yet flying
you'd might as well give up now, there's no point in trying
nah, not in my environment, "there is no stopping him"
you can't f*** with me 'cause i am your oxygen
you need me but i don't need you
you don't see me, you just see through
and i don't wanna call your faults out loud now
but i'm harbouring these feelings that aren't proud
you've disgraced me, that's why i left quick
yeah it's hell here, it's just to hectic
checkin' off that checklist thinkin' 'bout planet earth
but tell me what the plan is there, man it's gotta work
and if it don't you can follow my steps
repeat my songs and try to find the hints, my friends

Another good one hommie. Cant wait till we get that album together, they have no idea how good its gonna be. :y: :y: :y:

EDIT: So I will feed this. Your mixing is getting better, not quite were it needs to be but Your on your way. The beat way mehhh...lol just kidding, not bad for a freebie of mine. The best part of this song and I think of all your song is the mood and the message, really great man. Lyrics were dops and the flow was pretty good. Delivery was a bit lacking but nothing bad. 7/10 :y:

This is dope Spag, I enjoyed it. The only flaw I can really pinpoint with the mixing is that I feel your vocals overpower the beat, they're too loud. Other than that, I enjoyed it all. Samples are cool too :y:

I like the beat a lot, very chill... your vocals are absurdly loud man, makes it a bit hard to enjoy, I'd suggest to put them down as soon as possible before releasing it around, cuz its very loud.

the lyrics are really dope, very very interesting stuff man, a lot of quotables on there, great lyrics, however the flow is not very good, there are a couple slips on the second verse but thats not it, I think its a bit too "funny" or up-tempo for this song. and the high volume dont help.

the track itself is of very high value man, really dope, like I said, the lyrics and the beat are amazing and it all has a great value.

keep at it man :y:

i liked your multis, and i loved your interlude/chorus - thats a cool way to tie everything in. i also think you did the concept justice. just work on your delivery, sometimes its not perfect, like the time when you rhymed Hectic with something else. but overall it was cool :y:

Man I dig this. It's so much better than the two other ones, this is my favorite you posted out of all these 3. Liked the rhymes and the content is kinda good, liked the "there is no stopping him" line and the way you said it. :y:

The mixing also got better and better, and it will get even better with time. It just that practicing with this is the key but since you seem to record a lot there shouldn't be a problem with that.

good job!

Not a bad track, but not great either. I like the lyrics, and the flow isn't too bad, but your voice is too "how do I say this?" it sounds like you're out of breath, or you're freezing your ass off and outside rapping in the cold. I would suggest turning the vocals down a tad bit and adding some more bass in the beat, and although I haven't heard your other songs yet, I would suggest you change it up a little bit because this song was just like da da, da da, da da, da da, and was just straight as an arrow. In order for a song to really catch alot of people's attention, the song needs to change up alot so people don't just go into a catatonic state listening to it. Not bad at all, just my critique, you have potential as a lyricist for sure.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it's really appreciated! I'll be doing steady releases for the foreseeable future, the next drop will be a remix to Asher Roth's "Pabst & Jazz" song, I hop on the beat where it drops and ride it 'till it ends, it's called "Pabst & Jazz Refill", pretty fun track, nothing real deep just a lot of rhyming. I'll drop that on Sunday come to think of it! :y:
