Ready For War (Produced by Life & Death)

Postby classthe_king » Jun 9th, '10, 17:53

I'm tired of working on this song cause it was just a test song and it sucks anyway. I mixed it all by myself so any help on that would be nice. I'm just a newb so all feedback is appreciated.

Ready For War

Edit: Lyrics are close. I think I changed them as I was recording it but its good enough.

I gave em the pain cause my crazy flow admits
Decay to yo brain like it's radioactive
Obey all my reign before you make me go savage
And slay who restrain, wit blades we go at it
You used to go hard but your ratio back flipped
Your big rhymes blow like fellatio with a fat chick
My ways evoke madness and I’m driving you nuts
Your courage is gone like I was frying ya guts
I’m depriving you of your right to flow to the beat
Find out you can’t whine about woes when you speak
Everyone loves my raps and you noticed its heat
When I spit you’re standing like I roasted ya seat
Ya know ya shits weak, whose got the last laugh
You no more fag if you had a teddy bear and a back pack
It's my time to shine watch these rhymes combine
My line hit the white chalk, it needs nine rewinds

Chorus (x2)
Yo, I hit the block with the swords and spears
Don’t act surprised we’ve been a force for years
In every child’s heart we are the source of fears
Here to steady the score, be ready for war

A brain sick lame prick with a wrecked mind
A deranged nuisance wit more strange music then Tech N9ne
My complex rhymes got you flippin over vertically
Watch yo step don’t trip over this murdered beat
I’m rippin ya surgically, tearing you limb from limb
Racking ya rear as your rapping career begins to end
When my pen contends its always the preeminent
So any contest in the pad you know we winnin it
Fuck a pen listen to what we wrote instead
Cause my flow pierces your body with molten lead
In one bolt ya dead so it makes comedy
When you grab the mic try to get it on wit me
I on the streets makin noise, I dropped a bomb
And you couldn't stop me if you were a red octagon
Stop the drama, cause soon you gon be a dead guy
So after this battle go tell Pac and Big I said hi

Chorus (x2)

I’m a blazing cobra on the mic when I spit this venom
I remain in power; your game is sour like a citrus lemon
Blastin like a nitrous engine, I’m rocking the flow
Why you throw your hands up it ain’t stoppin the blow
Mockin you hoes, there is nothing that words solve
Actin to diss, no reaction to this, fuck the third law
I’m ready to burst off, finally listen to me roc the mic
It’s like I’m ambidextrous cause I don’t got to write

Its really dope track man, especially for someone who just started to do audio. The beat is fuckin dope, you did it?Your voice is really dope 2(I thought that you were younger, even if you are you dont sound like that)
Flow is nice also.Rhymes are tight, some dope multies and puns

1st verse-its ok,started really dope wit that radioactive shit, middle was ok and at end dope again
Hook-its also really nice, even tho it sounds a bit like verses,ya know what I mean, but lyrically dope non the less
2nd verse-my fav,love that Tech line
A deranged nuisance wit more strange music then Tech N9ne
My complex rhymes got you flippin over vertically
Watch yo step don’t trip over this murdered beat
I’m rippin ya surgically, tearing you limb from limb
:worship:
This 2
Fuck a pen listen to what we wrote instead
Cause my flow pierces your body with molten lead

And that Pac and Big part was nice also

3rd verse-its 2 short, but still some cool rhymes,I love your voice at the beginning of it,you started it kinda harder then other verses :y:

Its 7.5,8/10

Nice job homie.and you mixed it very good for a beginner, what mic you use?Ima hit back at you cause I need to buy some shit so I could start recording, your stuff sounds pretty decent :y:

No offense, but this just makes me not want to listen. If you can't get excited about your work, why should anyone else?

That being said, I'm about to listen anyway.

Edit: I like it. The mixing could use some work, but it has a ton of potential. The red octagon punchline stuck out to me more than anything I think, but you have a very good base here, that if more properly mixed would be worth a download for sure.

Any tips on how to mix it better?

I don't know what program you use.. but this tutorial got me through a lot of tracks and as I went I sort of evolved it making it slightly better as I went. It's for Cool Edit Pro 2.0, but I'm sure it can be done through Adobe Audition as well.

Tutorial was written by Evidentz: http://www.shadowville.com/board/emcees ... ing-vocals

It partially uses the waves bundle, and somewhere on shadowville there's a torrent for that bundle, it really is useful.. I'm sure you could just google it too. I have the waves diamond bundle.

Also, Shadowville is a great place for artists to display their music.. A little more feedback and plays than most threads here for music get. Most new guys there don't get much for feedback, but I could just drop in saying don't sleep on this and it would probably get you off to a good start.

Sounds good. TC is droppin' there now too, and we can always use more good artists. Ton of rappers with all different levels of quality to collab with.
