I didnt live those events, i was too young.
At the beggining, was just hiphop. All suddenly, everything revolves around hiphop. We had all kinds of groups. Gangsta, poetic, conscious, rebel etc. The premier group was Active Member (Big Daddy Foxmoor, X-Ray and DjX tho i am not sure about their dj). This group led the hiphop music, and still today are considered legends. However....during 1995-1998 a split occured in the hiphop scene. Active Member turned to more poetic and artistic style of music, which was baptised by BD Foxmoor as "lowbap". And there the thing started to break because Active Member started to alienate the hiphop. Hiphoppers retaliated by denouncing Active Member and a whole diss war between lowbap and hiphop started, which carried on to the audience and the fans as well. Officially lowbap was defeated and every lowbap group turned to hiphop afterwards, although Foxmoor himself can fill up a club easily. The group Active Member disbanded and was remade by Foxmoor, who still makes lowbap music until today. Hiphop survived until the golden age and then it died down. It was brought back again at 2004 by a mediocre hiphop group called Going Through, who turned mainstream and now mostly imitate american hiphop.
