Sentus & Coleon- The Struggle
From out tape coming soon.

EDIT:

Download For This Version

Lyrics:

(Coleon)
I'm back to square one, I should call this place my home
My humble abode, when I'm alone and in my zone
Cause I...I been here before, must not of shut the door
Now I'm back so I wonder what the fuck I struggle for
It's something more than a piece of ass or a hoe
Those things are trash and my town is fuckin littered with those
A prick from a rose hurts the most because it's beautiful
And it's effect on you's the opposite and not the usual
If I was cruel to you do you think you woulda stayed?
Cause love and hate are just different sides of a blade
I should of strayed and never taken that path
Cause when you praise, you see just how long relationships last
I could've taken it back, and really say what I thought
But I know a guy, who knows a guy, who'd hate if we fought
He goes crazy a lot, for what I do to his bitch
Cause I'm a cover up for a decent guy who used to exist

(Chorus)

(Sentus)
You've been my best friend ever since age three
With ice cream on your porch, now you hate me
Or do I hate you, come on…this shit ain't true
You were my best friend, and you were great too
Whatever I did to make you depart has scarred me
I just wanted to say with all my heart, I’m sorry
If there was one person I thought I'd see through
All the hard times I was sure that it would be you
I would of fought for you, would of lied for you
I would have rot for you, I would of died for you
I cried for you, but I'm sick of the fakest friends
Always pulling shit, then tryin to make amends
As the days extends I start to see the whole truth
You chose Jessie over me, this shit is old news
Now I’m kind of grateful that we had to part
I'm trying to build myself a new life, a new start

Wow.

First off I had never heard Coleon rap before but he was nice. His quality isn't great but he actually flowed decently and the lyrics were nice. Class, your verse was great. Lyrically, flow wise, subject matter, delivery...It was just dope. For having not dropped that much material your easily one of my favorites on Tr.

Looking forward to the tape. :worship:

Sick beat. I liked the lyrics, written well on both ends. Cole your verse wasn't bad, it was okay, I liked it, but needs work. Class your verse had heavy breathing, sounds like you're tired and your mouth isn't opening much when you record, so you mumble your words, mostly your rhyming words. Cool verse though, I liked it, but also needs work. You will have to practice on your rap voice Cole. If you have an high pitched voice, it's simple, use a lower deeper voice. I don't mean put on a biggie, all I'm saying is, you have to sound more serious and mature. Sound as serious as you can without using much energy. This will also benefit your flow making it easier to flow. Flow will get there in time for both of you. You need to study flow. Choose a track, download the beat and lyrics, and try to redo the track exactly how you think they did, this will show you in more detail, how to flow like the pros. Keep working dudes. :y:

Cole - I agree with Amadeo in that your delivery was a bit meh, you could tell you were reading them off paper but your rhyming was pretty nice - I liked the rhyme scheme, didn't overcomplicate it as it didn't really need that. The "littered with those/prick from a rose" rhyme was nice. I also thought you managed that subject matter without using too many cliches which was good to hear - it's tough to not end up having shit loads of cliches in there.

You rode the beat nicely as well.

Class - First thing I noticed was your flow at times was rushed or slowed down in places, it wasn't bad overall, just in places - your breath control is soooo much better than it was in the previous tracks I heard from you but it stilll needs some work. Rhyming was relatively simple but the "make amends/fakest friends/days extends" line was sick and it sounded pretty natural rhyme wise. I really liked the subject matter.

I probably just preferred Cole's verse but they were both nice. Some more work on your breath control/flow, Class, and it'll make your verse sound way better (obviously some aspect of your writing has to come into play for that in terms of alligning your syllables).

Thanks for all the constructive criticism guys, it really means a lot. You'll see improvement in future tracks for sure.

I really like the beat, that's a great choice.
Both of you are two of the best writers on the site, so I think commenting about the lyrics is not necessary.

Class, you sound like you have a plugged nose on this, may be just the mixing tho.
Cole's part sounds too... noisy. He needs to get a better mic or record in a quieter environment.

If both of you already have good mics, try to record on a PC instead on a laptop, since the PC sound cards are way better than the ones on a laptop. And ask Big Ax or Sajjad to mix your track(s) until you learn how to do it properly.

All in all, it was totally unexpected, you guys have improved a hell lot, especially Cole. Gonna be bumping this song for a while, until you release a new one. :p

Keep it up, can't wait to hear the tape!

Haha, sounds like what I did with listening to spoonfull on repeat for 2 months. Got my flow perfectly how I wanted it.

At any rate, I agree with a lot of what sajjad said. I don't see anything you guys can consciously fix, really. It's more of a time issue. Things like delivery and perfecting flow come in time. Although there are little things you can do to help it. Myself, I had to get rid of my accent while rapping (atleast most of it) upstate NY accents aren't good for rapping, haha. My voice didn't sound right.

Enough of me, though.. I enjoyed the lyrics from both of you.

But I know a guy, who knows a guy, who'd hate if we fought

^^^^ My favorite lines of the song. The beat was dope, as well. Keep doing your thing guys.

ok ok, first... Pyromaniacs is a sick name...the song is decent. both of you guys lyrically are there, deliverywise you're off, flow wise you're getting there. Coleon's verse was technically better..but i thought if executed properly both those verses could be sick...just gotta get better at using a mic.

Well done track, the only problem for me is how loud Cole's vocals are and how you guys didn't cut the beat out well so it was annoying as shit. There's also a little tick in that area, but you know that Sentus. ;)

Good job cant wait for the rerelease.
