CREATE YOUR OWN REVERB by: Big Ax-D
"I bet youre tired of tryng every reverb preset on cool edit, adobe audion or Pro tools and havent been able to find one that suits you best or that can give you that warm feeling you are looking for, well, why dont you make yourse?, first you have to understand what is that every button does on a reverb digital unit. Now reverberation is the acoustic environment that surrounds a sound. E.g. the room you record in, the venue you perform in. etc... sometimes you record in a place that doesn't sound like your ideal place to record, so then we reverb it to add that wetness to our dry sound.
when you open a digital reverb unit you find a couple of buttons ama tell you what they mean:"
(every reverb unit varies from each other but you should encounter the following in most of them)
Legend: ms = miliseconds / % = percentage
Total Reverb Lenght - How long do you want your reverb to bounce? [you should focus around 1000 ms]
Attack Time - how long will it take for the reverb to reach its maximum volume? [from 0 to 100 ms you are looking at a small studio room] [from 100 ms to above you can go from a stadium to the grand canyon]
Percepiton - how do you want to recieve your reverb, smoothly or echoey? [normaly its a this or that choice, not many options]
Pre-Delay - is how long do you want your reverb to bounce from its source to its surface, it means that the larger the room, the more pre delay there is [brighter on harder surfaces, keep it low if you want a small room]
Reverb Time - Its the time it takes the reverb to decrease, most people like to keep it short, but its up to you, play around and see what u like.

TUTORIALS

COLOR CHOICE FOR ALBUM COVERS by: Big Ax-D
Here is a very short tutorial on how to get your colors right when working on your album cover, and at the end what does each color represent.

theres something people call the visual psychology of the color with its relation to the eye. I dont know if that makes sence but lol, it means that depending on how you use your colors the balance of the image will stay or fall out of its place.
now, looking at that "circle with colors" I posted above [called monochromatic scales btw] you can decide what color goes right with another withou provking the viewer to a) force his/her eye b) make fun of you.
1.- first of all, Black & White go great with eachother, just wanted to get this out before I forgot
2.- Every color goes great with 1 adjacent color to it. EG. (yellow & yellow green)
3.- Every color goes great triangulated in the circle: E.G.:

4.- Every color perfectly compliements the direct oposite of it. E.G. (orange & blue)

5.- They also complement eachother greatly if "peace & love" splited with eachother. E.G. (yellow, dark purple & dark red)
6.- And last but not least, they complement each other well if square from each other. E.G. (red, orange, blue & green)


now, a quick psicology of the color lesson:
- Red = Angry color, love & power
- Yellow = Cautious color, weak & strong memory
- Orange = warm color, pleasant & fast
- Green = Natural color, energy & money
- Blue = Sad color, calm & cool (cold, you stupid, not cool as in awsome )
- Purple = Spiritual color, calming & royal
- Black = mysterious color, Dense & Vaccum
- White = Clean color, Pure & Trustfullness

yep that was originally part of the plan, this was only the first test.
But dont see alot of future for vol. 2 as this one was ignored completely lol. so unless people are looking forward to actually be a part of this there's really no point in doing all this work.
