My Generation (Atomic Beats)

Postby Spyder » Sep 11th, '12, 20:28

LOF

My Generation
produced by Atomic Beats

I live in a time where in just the blink of an eye
You could be spittin then in the next minute ya die,
Hand grippin the mic then your grippin to life
Till its cut off and they walk straight into the light.
Bunch of kids with stories, fibs, and their lies
To try to get their hands fuckin dipped in the pie.
Its sick, we set out to mimic these trendsetters
And all the popular girls equipped with red letters.
Its get better, bullied cause dude wasn’t cool
Til he gets his revenge then learns use of a tool,
But he cant stomach thought of shootin the school…
Nah, he gets in a car starts consumin the fumes.
Kids dead and deceased, and left in the streets
Yet others cut their wrist to get the attention he needs.
I got so many thoughts, man my head is racing
I’m sorry… just fuckin sick of my generation.

If my song doesn’t mention clubs it doesn’t get played
But if it mentions drugs… then I’ll fuckin get paid,
Just keep fighting still in the bout you’ll figure it out
But those fighting get cut for their Twitter account…
But its okay though just look at the morals we got
Just don’t make a rape joke, freedom cost more than we thought.
Gothic kids rockin the black talkin bout swag
And his biggest worry is when someone calls him a fag,
But it aint like, he minds the recognition is great right?
Seems like today they quick to say that’s a hate crime.
See where you cross right and wrong, the lines faded
Robbin cash vaults for bath salts leaves more than time wasted.
My mind states changing as I adjust to like paces
But these new places don’t embrace fine faces,
I know I’m complaining for a bit of an explanation
I’m sorry… just fuckin sick of my generation.

I am one to get laughed at, because of my trade
They say oh rap that’s just another one of my phase,
If they knew half that message I struggle to make
Wouldn’t say I act black and try to muzzle my face.
But I cant help it, I’m selfish I’ve become what you’ve made
Like all the products poisoned the blood in my veins.
A product of this, society that’s callin it quits
Every daughter and bitch mocking Hollywood cliques,
Facebook followers trying to get the latest gossip and shit
Hopin on dick with fake tits and collagen lips.
Nothing we do is helping we just make more martyrs
I guess that’s what happens when you only have Four Fathers.
Its more drama, I’m not the first to make this proclamation
Others have noticed the abomination, of Obama’s nation.
I know I’m complaining for a bit of an explanation
I’m sorry… just fuckin sick of my generation.

Lyrically I like it, you should really try to put more emotion into it though, especially with the overall feel of the track

Beat: The beat was ehhh. I just couldn't get into it.

Lyrics: Rhyming was okay, it really wasn't anything special or outstanding that popped out. Had the usual multies in there but I felt the flow would have been better if you continued the multi scheme into the first part of the next bar, it really helps with flow as well as on the ears.

Message: This was the strong point of the piece. I get the feeling this came effortless to you. If only you would put more effort in your delivery and to a degree your writing style.

Flow: Felt off the whole song. Some lines you'd slow down, others felt so clusterfucked. It didn't sound right.

Vocal mixing: Better, but still felt a bit... unenthusiastic. If you can even personify vocal effects lol.

Voice:
Your battle voice didn't really work on this track. You felt so... threatening on such a reflective track. You need to mellow your voice out and just talk to us, ya know? It's like a conversation I think for these types of track and you're acting like you're gonna bury us in a battle lol

Overall this was good, not terrible but at the same time nothing great. But a step in the right direction. I know you're not that professional with the vocal mixing, I'm not either, but this felt like the right direction with the mixing.

Sorry if that seemed harsh, but you have great potential and I want to see you get better. :y:

for the scheme idk man i dont feel anything is wrong with it, sounded fine on the ear to me.
as far as the delivery/voice. people complained about that voice flucuation so i dulled the delivery down
i wouldnt really call it my battle voice, im just naturally deep toned and without changing the volume for a nice delivery i sound bland yes, but i didnt want that voice flucuation like my previous tracks supposedly have.
lyrics yeah nothing special, more on the message.
but i mix the same everytime, so the fact it sound better or worse than previous tracks is odd
i use the same method solace and trimms do yet we all have different feedback on that...

the flowed to me seemed nice as i didnt feel like i rushed or slowed down, and thanks for the feed on the message.

not arguing with your points just giving a little reasoning, thanks for the feed as always man

I gotta admit, dude, it took me a long time to really get into your voice and stuff, but I really liked this track.
I'm genuinely impressed with your performance here; you had a lot of energy and nicely structured lyrics.

You're clearly influenced by the battle scene, which is awesome.
I like it when people try to bring something new to the table when it comes to lyrics, and I haven't seen anything like what you've written.

Well, then again, I haven't really been bumping many rappers lately and I've forgotten a lot of shit.

To me, you got your own little thing going here, which is cool.

Um, you should work on the mixing a little bit.

I know it's hard, I was struggling last year, but I got the hang of it.
You seem like a chill dude.
Keep it up!

What method do Solace and Trimms do? I'd really love to know, because Solace has great mixing haha
