I use a Sampson Meteor Mic USB Studio Headphone, it was a gift from my gf and the best I have besides my computer mic and I just recently got a pop filter but I'm still trying to get better quality.
You mean the input volume? Are you sure that it won't be too low to record?

Well, it should be okay once you put some compression on the vocals. That way the peaks and such are all level.
