This is more like a collaboration album tbh. It felt inconsistent, and boring for the most part. I might just be saying this because I'm extremely tired and feeling sleepy. Although there was some songs I really enjoyed. You sounded good all around but I wasn't feeling it.

(also were there some Ellie vocals? I thought I heard some  )

Close My Eyes
Well.. You already know what I think about your lyrics on all your tracks lol. I already heard this song but I'll leave some feedback. I really enjoyed both your and precison's deliveries and flows. You were on beat the entire time. The only thing I can knock is that I think there is too much bass in your voice.. it doesn't sound as professional as it could sound, but, other than that, the mixing is really good.

Precision does a great job, I'm still amazed that he's only been rapping for a little bit. He stayed on beat the entire time. My only complaint is that his flow was basically the same the entire verse, it makes it somewhat boring without any type of flow change up but it's good.

Lights
Once again, love the singing in the beginning to open the track. Wow, Precision sounds much better on this song, the mixing on the vocals are better on this song than "Close My Eyes" maybe it's because your voices are better for this song. "But my heart's been removed, I'm an amputee," -lolwut? I laughed at this line.. I think it was cheesy lol but no big deal. The mixing on the "Lights.. in my head" part sounded weird to me.. I'm not sure why. Overall, this is a solid song. I like how you guys rap back and forth on it.

Give me the Rush
Already fed this track on TR I think so you know what i feel about this song - it's dope.

Broken Free
Wow.. Murdock kills every hook. His singing is great. I think the mixing could be better. It sounds like there's too much reverb to me, it pushes his voice too much into the background. I think you stay on beat this entire song but the beat is really weird.. The beginning of the first verse sounds really off but i don't think it is. I just don't think I'm use to you flowing like that. I'm more use to you having faster verses so it sounds weird to me but it's a solid track.

Shadows
Amazing mixing, wow. Haha just kidding but you already know what I think of this track.

It's True
Chorus sounds really weird on this track.. Not a big fan of the hook. The verses sound sick though - Once again, I like the effect of you and Precision going back and forth. So.. almost every song so far has been a love song :P The fact that it's like you and precision arguing is pretty cool, good concept. Precision's flow sounds really choppy on this track.. I think it's because the beat is so slow. You have great emotion though.

Rise Above
Beat is sick. Sounds like something Eminem would spit to. "Go ahead, call me a fat white kid
That's depressed, now watch my music be timeless." that part sounded off beat. I love the emotion that comes in on this song, wow! Even though this is short, this goes hard. I love it

No One Laughs
I mixed this so... You know what I think about it. Not a big fan of Precision's verse content wise :P but other than that, it's a solid track. Both of you guys do pretty good jobs.

I need a Doctor remix
Precision did his best job on this song I think. His lyrics and flow are really solid. I enjoy the punchins, they sound good. The part where he starts rapping fast a tiny bit I think sound off though. His second verse is also solid, it's nice a personal. The beat sounds like it's low quality.. did you download it off YouTube? It sounds off cuz it's low quality but your vocals are high quality so it sounds off. I like how your part comes in. Your delivery is really good, i love the emotion in your voice on every track. Nothing to complain about on your verse besides the quality difference once again between the beat and your vocals.

These Streets
Vocals are too loud for this beat in my opinion. Also, there's too much bass in your voice for this beat or maybe I just think that because of how loud the vocals are compared to the beat. This song has really good imagery, good job on the lyrics. Flow, delivery is all on point.

Finally
Once again, I mixed this so you know what I think. This is one of my favorite songs on this tape.

Solid job man, I'm pumped to hear what Phoenix is gonna sound like! :y:

I thought you blended well with the (somewhat poppy) instrumentals and such; I just wanted to throw that out there.

Mike did some really nice hooks (good voice too), but it seems like Precision hasn't really found his 'comfort zone' yet. I guess he just started though, according to some your guy's songs. Still, you should help him work on that since he's really not a bad writer.

As far as your writing goes, great rhyme schemes and all (the 'Mike Fox one' lol), but you're actually putting some thought into them like the 'scars visible/picking blisters' line, which is also important.

But your delivery is what interests me the most. It sounds like you're getting the hang of putting emotion into your tone. Not only that, your flow sounded cool too, like the 'thinking to that/drinking to that' part because you sped up, but it still sounded smooth. :flutter:

Edit: spelling mistakes and such.

My favorite tracks were Close My Eyes, It's True, and Finally.

Also your delivery has definitely improved, you can tell the difference between your old work and your new work.

@ Triple - Damn, thanks! Appreciate the time and feed!! And as for the "amputee" line on Lights, I think he meant it as to allude he wears his heart on his sleeve, thus removing it removes his arm... lol. At least that's how I interpreted it. I didn't really ask him about it though.

@ 12 - Awesome, thanks so much! I'm glad you find my shit interesting, that really makes me happy haha.

@ Pain - Glad you enjoyed it enough to have a few favorite songs lol. Yeah, you can definitely tell the difference. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Demaz's mixing helped in that department.

Cheers everyone! :b:

I'm writing as I hear the tracks in order

Close my Eyes - Great intro Likes the sample/singing verse was solid, felt the emotion

Lights - Felt like you should have relaxed more on this track, flow is too quick, but thats jsut my opinion, you have your own style. and when you chop it up when you record because you couldnt rap it all in one take sounds to obvious (unless you didnt do that and im hearing things) when you jump in on your vocals, make sure you rerap the line before where you need to start to get your voice level to match, hope that makes sense. and im listening on a macbook, so my quality isnt perfect over here

personally didnt like give me the rush, the good point was the singing on there sounded great to me. but the flow isnt a style I like. and its not really traditional hip hop

Broken free had really dope lyrics, if you would have delivered it better, more inflections in your voice during angrier parts and sounded more humble or sad over the sadder parts..sort of like an actor, but you get better at that with time, Im not too good at it either., again the singing hook is great in my opinion

Shadows - has the more relaxed sounding flow that sounds great. so far my favorite track, and your delivery is so much better than on broken free. I feel like your passionate. hook sounds good again.

It's true, like the mixing on this one thus far on the hook. is there two rappers on here? Pretty sure, but the 2nd rapper really held you back. sounds like hes reading too obviously, doenst know the lyrics, or have the flow
again, that hook sounds real nice
Edit: if thats you rapping against yourself, I get the concept, but I dont think it was executed as good as it could have been

No one laughs- great flow, nice echoing on this. nice multis, nice anger inflections I was mentioning earlier. cool hook, i like these singing hooks but I think you have too many for one tape. the hook on its true shows you can execute hooks nicely on your own

I need a doctor...i cant properly judge a track over an Em beat because I've heard him on it already lol so im basically gonna compare you to him. its always helpful to take a mainstream rappers better to outdo him

these streets - not really liking the delivery o nthis one, maybe your voice is too loud, but your story telling skills have potential..

had to go, sorry cant get to last track

@Aone10 - Thanks! On my future projects (that isn't Phoenix since we're almost done with it), I'll have one producer do the whole thing (Demaz). His style is like Eminem, simple but complex. It sounds good.

@Dlove - Awesome, great feedback! Only thing I'd refute is the punchins... I was going back and forth with Precision on Lights, so maybe that's why you feel my punch-ins were weird. The track titles are there so you know there's another rapper on the track lol. And the whole singing/sample is the theme of the mixtape, btw. That's why there's a lot of it and not many original hooks.
