You have good lyrics, but you need to work on your delivery. You're rapping about a serious topic, but you sound kind of depressed, rather than motivating. Know what I mean? It's kind of off-putting, for me anyways.

I think if you just become more confident in your delivery and fix some aspects of your flow it'd be a lot better. The flow on this is very...robotic. Repetitive. Change it up a little bit sometimes.

You're a good writer though. Keep at it.

Thanks bro, this was the very first song i ever tried recording so was still learning how to deliver my lyrics, i still am to be honest.. but if you have a look at one of my more later songs like this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJwNxeT-hao .. even i can see a tiny bit of improvement lol. I just hope i can one day perfect my delivery

I checked that and also another song called Feelings, and from what I've noticed it seems like you try and fit too much into each bar a lot of the time. It sounds sloppy when people do that, unless the sound quality is amazing and it's all clear what the lyrics are. If I wasn't reading your lyrics I'd get confused at certain points. Not Over You's 3rd verse was my favourite from you, delivery-wise.

Just try to not overdo it .

Yea i've been told this a lot so I have to really work on that. Another thing is I just straight record my verse and leave it at that, i dont edit anything, no effects on my voice, no equalisation or compression, no mixing or mastering... I do a very bad job at all of this so until i find someone to help me out and make my tracks sound more professional i'll just keep recording how i am lol. but yea i definitely need to stop trying to fit so much into a sentence, it really throws my flow off.. i know this and i continue to do it for some reason..

Honestly, you're not really god awful, sometimes you go off-beat.
Try to flow a little bit better and things should be fine.

I don't think Dilz goes off beat, it's just the way he structures his sounds around the snares is weird. He hits them all it just is weird the way he puts the lyrics around them is what confuses people. Or maybe I'm confused lol

Awesome man. Btw, there's this really great exercise. If you know how to count beats, or even if you don't, just by saying this you will automatically adjust to the beat and lock in like crazy. What I'm alluding is counting to one hundred while a beat is playing. This is great because it improves your diction and also as you say more syllables for the bigger numbers, the number of syllables will automatically make you adopt to the beat in different paces. Like when you get to 70,71, ..., 79; you'll notice that you'll be rapping the "seventy" double time. It's like that by default. So yeah, count to hundred on couple of beats, and also try to change the tone of your voice for each 10 numbers. Like, one tone for 1-9, another for 30-39, etc. It may look simple but it's awesome and low-key helpful.
