Protect Ya Neck Freestyle

Postby DAngeloBailey » Sep 6th, '13, 22:17

Hey guys! My name is Brent Parker. I'm 17 years old from South Carolina and I wanted to get your opinion on some of the music I've been working on. Here's a little taste of what I'm about. Any criticisms/advice is much appreciated!!

That my mother did it but the bitch won't admit it was her

Damn homie, you got bars. Pretty nice voice too, you remind me A LOT of younger Slim. Flow was spastic, you killed that shit. I felt at times it got a little too repetitive flow wise, you switched it up in a few spots but then it was like faster again. You got some nice wordplay and schemes in there, that might've been part of why you remind me of Em. This was tight dude. Only real complaint is the punch ins were semi obvious. Like not to the point where it sounds awkward, but I could tell rather easily where they came. Just some shit to tighten up on though, no biggie.

And yeah dawg, you got to give somebody else feedback or this will get locked. There's a lot of pieces to choose from, but you should probably just feed this one: http://forum.trshady.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=163011

My opinion is mixed on this freestyle, but it leans toward positive. The voice sounds like stereotypical Screech whiteboy kind of thing, multis can sometimes get random, and sometimes the content borders hiphop cliches, but in the end, the flow, structure and pacing is so good, it's not so hard to forgive it's flaws.

Lol, ironically I just wrote my own version of this last night.
Anyway, I really, really enjoyed your flow.
Even if your lyrics sucked - which they didn't - I still think it'd be pleasant to listen too.
Great choice in beat, nice lyricism.
This was solid bro, although I'd like to see more than just "bars" in future.

I'd like to second that. You had a nice tempo and flow going on, I could hear your delivery was good too. Your voice wasn't as bad as I thought after a second listen. I heard multis in there (yay lol). Good shit, man.

Wow, that was rather impressive.
It's not often that young new members just come out with some dope shit.

Might wanna work on just tightening up your style and you should be good to go.

It's a yes from me.
