does anyone remember bloodline ?

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Dec 21st, '09, 20:51

it was a mixtape, coccoa/harlem put together of tr rappers, i wasnt on it myself i was a newbie back then, just learning to write raps never mind spit them lol

but it just shows that i can hardly see any active members that featured on this mixtape, if anyone wants to hear it, im sure yoshi or...maybe slimm..miranda..angie, vets like that may still have it on there com i unfortuently dont. would love to hear it again though.

it was a dope mixtape, whatever happened afterwards with the dissing and stuff is old news now, but the mixtape truly was great i loved it. harlem can be knocked for alot of things but he got that stuff together and released and it really showed off the forums skills.

this opens up discussion (coz i aint been to active lately but im defiantly back this time so no worries people) to the new artists, guys who back then were just members (chris is a example of back then just a member, now a force in the tr audio family) and people who i aint even to familiar with but seem to be posting a good amount of tracks on the site. and really i aint heard anyone who is wack, the new guys really are keepin the standard up.

would anyone here be intrested in getting a project like this together. its been tried over and over again and failed again and again, due to mixing..lack of intrest ect. so i dont wanne try put it together like im goin to do this wanne join in ?

but i would like some of the new guys on here (and the old) to give there views on if the think puting something like this together would intrest them, and if they would be willing to help with it.

we got enough artists with enough behind them to get a quality mixtape that for one is certain.

so what yall think ?

yeh it never gets kept organised.

coz of mixing mostly.

but i was thinking everyones sorta got there own way of doin things now, it aint like before when everyone was running around trying to get someone to mix this and mix that for them..we all got certain people who do it for us or do it ourselves.

and everyone is constantly working on new tracks now, was thinking of just asking couple a couple of guys for un-released tracks..or tracks that will be on there next tape. and sorting something nice together.

I'd be down for TR shady Mixtape..for real though...has someone thought of maybe asking the people releasing songs to fund some money into someone for a mix..there wouldn't be a problem with someone mixing it if they were paid to do it im sure...like who does the best work mixing on the site?

ask them to do for 10$ an artist..each artists pays the engineer/mixer 10$...if we got 15 rappers to get on this it'd be 150$ and im sure thats incentive enough for someone to properly do all the work.. I know some might not have 10$ to spare, but if they really want this thing to go down 10$ is really just a small contribution for the overall well-being of the project, and im sure they can borrow 10$ from somebody.

we need a mod to organize this properly though...get a list of names that are interested.. give them a due date for the song/money. no song/no money? then they aren't featured..plain and simple..and in the mean time start shoping for a producer who can mix the songs properly...give it 6 months time..it should be plenty for everybody to organize it properly...

but like I said I'd be down for sure for TR mixtape. someone set it up.

well mart85, is the all around best mixer on the site, espeically when working with different levels of quality, i could get in touch with him and see if for a upfront sum he would be willing to mix say 15 tracks ? although id push it to $15 per artist, mixing tracks the way he does (properly) and also mastering them, takes a good amount of time, and also with many different levels of quality, there will be alot of trial and error. but i mean if guys were commited enough to give up $15 to get a pro mixer behind the project then id put my money forward, beats could eb soundclick and r producers, id be willing to put up the lump sum for the "single" with could be 5-8 artists on the one track spitting 8 bar veres we did one before it turned out seriously dope and that was on a mart beat.

but yeh man you got the right idea, just need to know if people would be willing to do this to get a real quality mixtape featuring ourselves to get put around your area and also online.

im pretty sure if mart chose to do this for a lump sum, he would allow us to get all the accapellas ready, all the beats readyy everything organized in a file named properly and easy to control. (i would volunteer to be the one everything gets sent to, i work with mart alot and file everythig i do in seperate files to keep everything seperated and as easy as i can to work with, so he would be used to the way i organize it) and i have a external hardrive so i would have a back up of everyones music on my external hardrive just incase.

then we send him the file, then tell everyone to make there payments, if..lets say 6 guys out of 10 made payments, im sure if the 6 guys didnt want to split the left price of $60 (that would be another $10 each) we could ask mart to send the money back through paypal to our accounts and forget about it, but if we got all the pellas down and everything ready, and then 4 guys didnt pay, im sure the other 6 would think well sure they suck but lets just give the other $10 coz our own work is still there) keep the guys who didnt pay on it, just dont credit them for anything.

thats saying mart was intrested in this and seeing how many guys wanted to be on it, we would say if your paying £15 then you should be intitled to 1 solo. we would also have to agree on number or tracks, we couldnt have 10 guys paying $15 but there being 23 tracks, thats not fair.

yeah, if you organize everything the way you explained it, I wouldn't mind doing it, but I'm not sure about the money.

I mean, to get really good results, it would take a lot of work from me, and when I mix tracks on other beats (beats that aren't mine) I don't have as much control. So I wouldn't want to work hours on this to get just slightly better results than if everybody mixed their tracks themselves. :sweating:

For a smaller price, maybe I could just master the tracks, to get a good balance between each tracks, and it would take me much less time. And if I think a specific track needs adjustments in the mix, I could ask for the project files and do the changes, or ask the person to adjust it themselves.

Anyways, we should wait and see if there's any interest, cause like you and C-Riz said, it failed soooo many times in the past lol.

The only way to organise this with money involved as some new artists have basic setup is to ask for 3 tracks from every artist to be submitted. After every rapper have put forward suggestions, we leave it to the Tr people to decide as it represents Tr on a whole. I feel artists should have a limit of nmber of tracks as then it'd be dominated by Sajjad, C-Riz etc... maybe class tracks into sections uch as: Party, Street, Love, Concepts to keep subject content varied enough. Only the best few are chosen for a 18 track Mixtape( no Host for the love of God). Once we do that, if there are quality issues, we can talk about an artist re-doing or editing components of tracks depending on who's avaliable. I think this can work if 1 or 2 people are consistenly working on this 1 as a collecter and informer another with mixing/covers duties. I reckon Bar and C-Riz would be best for that or Tash with mart focvused on Mixing and mastering quality. Deadlines should be set in order to force the process through as that's why the other attempts arent sucessful

I'd be down to do this and send some money to whoever is mixing/producing/whatever. The only downfall I see is people not wanting to pay, but I'm not sure how old the newer rappers are or if they have money to spare. This can work if done right, and it seems there's' enough people behind it already that want to make it go smoothly. You guys have a bunch of good ideas so far. :y:

mastering is a good idea, its better that its handled by one person to have a smooth running tape, as for the mixing aspect, i know, Sajjad, C-riz, Tash, Big-Ax-d, RandomGhost, all mix themselves and have top results, but i also know people like myself and kez, have never reached them heights in the whole mixing aspect, but i think its a good idea to let people mix there own solo tracks that way they send us full tracks and its ready to go, i say for any major Collabs, its would be best if mixing was held by one person, preferebly you, and ill put my kneck out now and say that if this go's ahead, ill put up the cash for a beat from mart and to get all veses mixed and mastered by mart, to have a top notch single.

id also say only one major collab it being the single, and any other collabs down to people of choice, we wont hand out beats or concepts, coz that never works, people can just hook up themselves and do a track, then send the final mix to me.

so basically depending on who;s down for it, if you can mix the track yourself, do so, and if you cant ask someone, and then if you still cant get it mixed, get in touch with me and i could get someone to mix it for you.

first off but if people have any already mixed tracks they they think would fit in say so and send them to me.

it will be made ot be heard outwith tr, so tracks like "memory lane" by tash or My new Tracks, or Vetooris new tracks can go on this, it doesnt need to be all new material.
