Who Is P-Funk?

If you remember, Obie mentions him throughout his Cheers CD. Does anyone know who this guy is? I have a neighbour that used to live in Detroit, he was an old jazz-funk musician and his stage name is actually P-Funk as well, but I kinda doubt it's him, lol. Anyone know anything?

He's a rapper from Detroit was in jail when Cheers was written (guess he's a close friend to Obie).He's on the Trife Life CD along with Obie and a bunch of other rappers. He's pretty good from what I remember.

yeah he's a rapper. he's in the group Trife-life, so far they only released that super-great mixtape. I am so disapointed they still ain't got an album out
