IMO, artists should announce an album 2-3 months before it comes out. In that period, they should be putting out singles\videos and out doing promotion. They should also have all their fucking samples cleared before announcing a release date. Why the hell would you announce an album years before it even comes to fruition? Get your ducks in a row before announcing shit.
I kind of agree with this, generally speaking. I mean didnt Em release Not Afraid and then like a month or so later Recovery came out?
I feel like it partially has to do with the success of the singles, if the first one doesnt go as expected they have to push it back further and further until they get it right. But only under some circumstances, thats obviously not always how its done , or necessarily even the issue to begin with.
