Building hype for this long isn't a good idea. Every one who uses this strategy usually fails because the product never lives up to the expectations that people set for it. I think the fewer details you give people, the lower their expectations are.

IMO, artists should announce an album 2-3 months before it comes out. In that period, they should be putting out singles\videos and out doing promotion. They should also have all their fucking samples cleared before announcing a release date. Why the hell would you announce an album years before it even comes to fruition? Get your ducks in a row before announcing shit.

I kind of agree with this, generally speaking. I mean didnt Em release Not Afraid and then like a month or so later Recovery came out?

I feel like it partially has to do with the success of the singles, if the first one doesnt go as expected they have to push it back further and further until they get it right. But only under some circumstances, thats obviously not always how its done , or necessarily even the issue to begin with.

I honestly dont think he was ever going to have a huge hit, his voice I dont think lends itself to it. Dont get me wrong hes dope, and i want him to succeed, but I dont think he has the type of charisma the general audiences are looking for when it comes to a big hit single.

I could be completely wrong though...lol. thats just my feeling on the subject.

He gets no support whatsoever from his label. No talk from Eminem. No teamwork with SlaughterHouse. No nothing.

Everything you see is his work and his work alone.
I know he wants to do it by himself, cause he know he wont be Eminem-big but big enough to support himself and his family. Thats all that matters anyway. Hes an artist, not a money blower.

Fucking proud to rep Yela.

I've lost interest in anticipating this album. I was a massive fan of TMR and pumped for Love Story after it dropped but what the fuck is taking so long....?

Reminds me of when Hopsin dropped Knock Madness. I anticipated that for a long time and I honestly only gave it one listen and rated two tracks from it mainly because of all the hype probably.

He's just comparing the hype vs. wait time aspect of it. I'd agree that it's similar (if you were a Hopsin fan).

What about a sentence like, Love Story outsold Knock Madness.

Considering Knock Madness did like modern Obie Trice numbers that shouldn't even be too hard.

Again, you guys are wrong about KM. It sold like 43 000 albums or even more. That's a lot more than Obie.
