Shady Records does their job. They get them good production, set a date and find good outlets to showcase their music. It's not up to the record company to completely manage the acts, that's what managers are for. And neither the Manager or the record company can force people to buy the music. If the image of the artist doesn't fit what they like to see and the music doesnt fit with the rest of the watered down crap out there then it just doesn't sell.

Am I the only one who thought Skeletons in My Closet sounded incredibly corny? It is possible to make an emotional song without the over the top bullshit. If Rock Bottom had that chorus or that beat I would think it was the biggest pile of shit ever.
