Yeah, I mean, it's great that Yela and SH are going to get good promo from this, but it's not exactly the earth-shattering news the Shady people were hyping.

Promo? Slaughterhouse is performing somewhere else and Yelawolf is hospitalized. It's only cool for Fifty.

I seriously can't believe this was the big announcement.

It's certainly bigger than other stuff they have announced but... 'change the game' are you serious lmfao. So that guy's idea of a 'game changing' announcement / event is... the label's worst and most declining artist (50 Cent) performing an overrated gangsta rap album that is nine years old? lmao.

I know SH and Yela are performing too but still, this is just a live performance with some fancy web graphics and a nice title.

I just hope to fuck this Slaughterhouse album delivers and isn't a let down like Radioactive.

I don't see how SH is going to perform when they have a show in South Carolina that day. I assume whoever put the SXSW Shady 2.0 thing together would've accounted for that, but there hasn't been any announcement of SH cancelling the SC show or anything, and I just don't see how they could do both in one day. And Yela is in the hospital with something.

Meh, I'm not bothered either way.

New music is exciting to me, innovation is exciting to me...

Live shows, old material and nothing new, ain't exciting to me :(

Unless you're actually there, I don't get the excitement surrounding a live show.

Lollapalooza was amazing...but I don't know why I'd watch it, other than to see the little trick he pulled on all of us with that vodka bottle.

Fuck, that was a great show....

Yela isn't on the list too, so I wouldn't believe it much.

InsaneTRex94 wrote:The fact that Chicago cheered for him to drink is fucked up though. Kon played it off pretty well lmao...till he started laughing.

Actually, the crowd was originally cheering because he asked if he could Relapse with everyone.

Naturally, we all thought he was about to jump into some songs off of Relapse. Then he brings out the bottle. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't sure what was going on. I didn't think that he was going to actually relapse right there onstage in front of 90k people, but it looked like it.

Kon did indeed play it off well. His reaction actually gave the whole stunt credibility. I was looking at him, and he was looking at the DJ, shaking his head. It was surreal, for sure. All of it was happening fairly quickly though, so I didn't have much time to wonder about it myself.

The people I was around (strangers, in from Detroit) were shouting "no!" as he held the bottle up. There were a lot of people shouting "no", at least where I was at, just a few rows back from the stage. The people that cared the most, the ones that showed up 3+ hours early, those people were freaking out.

However, with nearly 100k people behind you, your protests tend to get lost in the noise. Everyone near me let out a big sigh of relief when the "vodka" started pouring out of his sides. It was crazy, man. Just crazy.

One of the more impressive nights of my entire life.

^ But also don't discount the possibility that quite a number of people probably also realized it was part of the performance, and just Em doing something for the show, as he often does between songs - whether it just be addressing the audience or doing a mini piece of theater.

And, it's been shown that people have a tendency to encourage, and take part in more mischievous and generally negative behaviour when in crowds too, and especially when they have relative anonymity. So, at such a mass event, and with such high-energy and such an exciting, high-profile artist and given the setting and context, and the tongue-in-cheek provocation, it's not surprising people would cheer for that (even if genuine) anyway.

I agree with you on that point, that many probably realized immediately it was a part of the performance.

You should have seen the looks on some of the people's faces though.

This kid I was next to looked genuinely afraid.

and lmfao @ the kid being afraid, I guess we should all know that after all Em's done to stay sober he wouldn't exactly try to get drunk again.

I wouldn't be surprised if we heard that he relapsed a time or two since 2009.
