I remember Charlamagne Tha God talking shit about Yelawolf on 105.1 The Breakfast Club, and it was a really short clip, but I'm pretty sure I heard Budden defend him. If it was him (and it was hard to tell) he was like "Hold on now, how many Yelawolf songs have you really heard?" or something along those lines.

Charlamagne was talking about WTOH and was like "Please, no Yelawolf on that album". Fucking prick.

Yeah. Joe Budden stood up for Yela, and they said they like him. However, I'm not really sure they like his stuff as a rapper.
Well Crooked I seems honest about it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXnB4husumk Around 8.00 Joe talks about him.

I hadn't seen the Hard Knock interview, that's interesting.

I wish I could see more of that Breakfast Club clip though. It was literally just like a 1 minute clip from the full interview, and it was done BEFORE the release of WTOH. I saw another one, but it was done on their release date.

No, in this video, Royce says somewhere he considered Yela one of the best out.

I was talking to Abram, who said he only saw a short clip of the Breakfast interview. But yeah, Yelawolf is definitely one of my favorite out.

That live stream though.. It had me dead. Saw it live. :flutter:

I love what Budden said around the 9:00 minute mark.

"Chill, chill...nah, I can't have him disrespect Yelawolf like that and follow it up with 'Bubba Sparxxx is nice', nah".

Loves Budden(s) for that.

EDIT:

And then at the end!

"Bubba Sparxxx is nice for an hour, b...I co-sign Yelawolf, Yelawolf would tear Bubba Sparxxx apart."

Budden definitely got a little more of my respect after that interview.

Have you seen this Pop The Trunk version? It's acoustic.

I love how I accidently turned this thread into a Yelastan hold lol.
Im with you guys on all your opinions. I remember that video where Yela asks for som space on their album and Royce is a dick.
Their loss tough, watch Yelawolf get bigger and more succesful than them. (forgot he already is lol)
Budden may have stood up for him, but I think they could have tried getting him on som hooks at least.

Oh and yes I have seen that acoustic one Trimss. Love it!

Yes, you are.
Yela appeals to so many audiences, his style's more varied than anyone from SH. SH is only good at lyrical miracle tracks as a group.

And emotional songs, you know this. Though I could see how someone could get bored of them or not like all their emotional songs.

But yeah, Yela has more potential imo.

Slaughterhouse stand a fair chance of getting bigger. ow famous you are isnt directly correlated with skill is what you guys need to realise, even if Yelawolf is more open as an artist and 'better', that doesnt mean he will get bigger. All the Yelastans saying 'oh yelawolf is better because of x and y etc...' are missing the point that Slaughterhouse has a load of established names already in it. Time will tell i suppose, but the biggest factor will be how much attention Em gives them.

looking back on it though slaughterhouse had like okay promotion. they had awhole tour before, they had 3 singles with videos before the album was out, they did a ton of interviews on fuse and what not, eminem was involved a lot... did yela have nearly this much promotion? and didnt he sell more still.?

He had like 30% of all this promotion, if we had to compare. Only two videos out. SH has Hammer Dance, My Life, Throw It Away and Goodbye.

And he sold less in the first week, but overall, I'd say he'll sell more than them.

I agree. Budden just can't rap about shit like that after listening to all the stuff he has done. Doesn't sound right. They could pull of a song like Cinderella man or till I collapse I think. I remember an interview with Royce asking why fans think "my life" was commercial on sway in the morning. He rapped his verse and said "how is that commercial? I'm rapping about life" or something like that. I was thinking to myself because it was the beat. That's why it sounded so compromised. I listened to it the other day for the first time in a while and it was decent. But that's it.

But I do think they could pull of a till I collapse type song to get big/on the radio. Would be dope

Putting Em in a video isn't promoting. People will find it cool and that's it. It's not like they will sell 50k more cuz Em was in a video
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
