I knew this was the Stanniest of the Stanniest of message boards, but the lack of respect people have here for non-Eminem related hip hop is too aggravating.

Dismissing Black Hippy & Big K.R.I.T., who are making some of the best hip hop in years without selling out, while praising Slaughterhouse's worst songs where they sell out shamelessly...give me a break, guys.

Some of the most praised hip hop albums in the past five years: TRShady doesn't like it.

Mediocre music co-signed by Eminem: TRShady loves it.

I'm done. You guys have fun jerking each other while listening to whoever happens to be signed to Shady Records at the moment. Your taste in rap sucks.

Okay. Have you ever thought those members genuinely don't like the music? Your tastes =/= fact. Suddenly everyone who doesn't like what you like is wrong. GTFO

It's cool if you leave btw, you won't be missed. You are officially out of the circle jerk.

This, everyone's entitled to an opinion Fake, but all y'all can't review music y'all obviously haven't listened to. Examples: Swimming Pools (Drank) if you are saying that's a party song.

'stanning' 'stanny of the stanniest', give me a break...

There's one thing here that is forgotten by the most of you: taste is not up to debate or at least it should not be. We have different preferences and different taste and we don't have to agree on everything. It's not a contest or a political debate where you have to win over the rest.

It's not general truth when I say I liked Hammer Dance more than Swimming Pools. It's my fucking opinion. And I never said that Slaughterhouse's self titled album is more critically acclaimed or has more meaningful songs than Section 80. But for me it's more fun to listen to. End of story.

I so fucking hate that when you shouldn't have an opinion opposite to others or else you'll tagged as 'stan' 'stanning' 'co-signing this or that and that makes you this or that'.

SH is certainly relieved now as we stopped bashing them and went for eachother's throat instead. :D

I'm not debating your tastes, but I am pissed off with You praising Slaughterhouse when they sold out and then have the audacity to call a track like The Recipe and Swimming Pools (Drank) anything less tha dope if you're calling Hammer Dance dope.

Wait a sec, did I see people hating on The Recipe? That's one of the best songs of the year!

A west-coast chill banger if you ask me.

:coffee:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

very good discussion guys :y:

by the way, I find Kendrick´s music something more than just a music. When I listen to "Cartoon & Cereal", or "Swimming Pools", it´s not just a beat and lyrics. It´s more. The energy, vibe, atmosphere. Just wow. I am glad I can listen to this. When I listen to Kendrick (mostly new songs), I feel the music. When I listen to Slaughterhouse, I listen to music. That´s a difference, imo.

Swimming Pools = The Recipe >>>>>>>>> Hammer Dance >>> My Life = Throw It Away

Anyway, looking forward to Our House and the tape, hope these guys bring some heat there

Am I the only one who thinks The Recipe is complete shit?

edit: Swimming Pools is complete shit as well.

Hammer Dance > My Life >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Throw It Away > Recipe = Swimming Pools

Yes, Throw It Away is better than those two complete shit songs.

Guess it's up to taste, but those songs are complete shit IMO.

It feels as if I've heard Royce's verse before. Especially the "bath salts" line.

Joell absolutely killed it. This gives me more hype for WT:OH. :y:

This also clears up any doubts of SH "selling out". They're still lyrical. Throw It Away was a concept song making fun of mainstream music only talking about money and girls, as a response to the negative criticism of My Life. I think this makes it clear. :worship:

Before ya'll move on just my 2 cents on Slaughterhouse this year
Hammer dance was meh when i first heard it but the more i hear it and its promoted the more i like it. i'd love a album full of this type of record.
My Life- it was alright. Nothing special. The video was dope though
Throw it away- i received an email today from Shady records marketing this song. I marked it as spam.

BUT, they have released some good music this year most notably Monsters in my Head and She will which were both dope as fuck. The former could have EASILY made the album. Joel Ortiz in particular has been good in his freestyles with the Tim Westwood one a particular highlight.
Songs of the year

Tech N9ne- Gods, Ft Krizz Kaliko and Kutt Calhoun.

They've always killed it. Even back on the SH album. Joell and Crooked were always the highlights. With Royce a close second (third).
