Yelawolf - Love Story (Q1 2015)

Jimmy Iovine leaving Interscope might spell the end for this record. The guy they have replacing him has no background in rap at all, John Janick is known for mentoring Fall Out Boy and Paramore, I highly doubt Yelawolf is even the kind of artist he would listen to let alone know how to promote. With his last album being the commercial flop that it was, and him being the new guy in charge wanting to get results on the charts, dudes like Yela might get shelved. Not trying to be a black cloud or nothing but things were already moving slow before hand, having a guy like this suddenly in charge of steering the ship doesn't give me high hopes.

Yela is more rock than anybody on shady.

Their are different kinds of Rock. The bands John has mentored are Emo pop rock groups that drew large crowds of teenage girls. Yela aint in that category bruh

People talk so much shit about Jimmy Iovine but at the end of the day, he brought Death Row, 2pac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and alot of other folks to the game........... The new guy brought out Fall Out Boy.

Just wait and see..... Things about to get alot worse over their........ Only dudes I think gonna be okay are Em and Kendrick because their guaranteed money.

Talent is debatable, but wasnt my point. The guy in charge of interscope now is the guy who specializes in bringing out Emo-Pop Rockers who sell records to teenage girls ; Now, he's in charge of releasing Yelawolf albums. Just doesn't seem like a good combination......... At least Jimmy Iovine came from a hardcore era, in addition to basically ushering Gangster Rap into the mainstream, he also signed Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Limp Bizket, and pretty much any group that offended anybody from the 90's onward....... For all the shit people give him he put out alot of hardcore music and was successful at it........ Now you got a pop rock guy at the helm, If I were a rapper at that label I'd be looking for the exit.

no, he's not in charge of releasing yelawolf albums. he's in charge of a label with many artists, one of whom happens to be yelawolf. offending people has nothing to do with whether music is good or not. why don't you give this new exec a chance before you accuse him of trying to put the screws to yelawolf?

I'm just making an educated guess man, nothing to get upset about. I backed up my opinion with examples and spoke my peace and thats my final word on it.......Just don't be surprised when it happens.

The album will come out either way. He's been operating in virtual autonomy since 2011, with little involvement from Interscope. Now, it might get little to no support from the label, but that was the likely case under Jimmy as well. The album already has approval from Shady, save for the finishing touches. Now it all comes down to scheduling.
