Well that's what all artist have to do nowadays... you're not the only one who gets hyped. It's a new world... interacting with fans this way is a must!

i get the vibe that dre doesnt really care or have enough interest in slaughterhouse to send some beats over.

Back in my college days cheers stood out cause of dre production, obie killed it during my college party years. Even 50's GRODT, how much do you honestly see dre inputting into 50 nowadays?

i know slaughter is shady records, but come on. Unless em produces heavily next go around or they manage to drop the shenanigans of radio friendly jams, i dont see much of a future. Same as yela.

i like yela, but sometimes, even as a stan i could agree shady records isnt were its at anyomre

I think Yela and SH know that their Shady debuts didn't go so hot (even though I personally thought they were awesome...) they'll bring it with what they're good at. No more compromising.

Dre beats are very very expensive & artist don't touch them if they can't make them work. 50 & Em have said many times Dre has so many beats stacked up & he'd easily give them to acts of the caliber of Slaughterhouse but like I said it mostly depends on how them acts are gonna work that out.

I'm almost sure they'll compromise again but the thing is I just hope Interscope & Em in some degree will just let 'em do their own acts rather than taking 'em out of their comfort zone & making 'em do different acts & shit.

There is no anticipation for this album...

They spent the good part of a year publicly bragging how they're the realest hip-hop group ever and how 'Our House' will change rap and all this fucking nonsense, then they come with one of the most compromised, muddled and weakest debuts in recent memory; after seeing how Yela's debut went down as well... you'd think all parties involved would learn.

Either they have no balls, or they're being controlled, or they're trying to get quick $$

Either way - any initial excitement I had about them dropping some classics is down the drain.

Hopefully they prove me completely wrong with this next one, but my expectation is zero.

EmBase, why do you think the album was muddled, compromised, weak etc?

EmBase is right though, it lacked creativity, a number of throw away tracks on the album. I liked it. But it was a massive disappointment. It's lost it's replay value to me too.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only one in the world who still bumps it. I'm actually excited for this new album though, I think they might get it right this time.

I listen to Asylum, Our House and Hammerdance. Otherwise, On the House is such a better listen.

There is also a mixtape Dj September 7th with a collection of their other songs/ freestyles leading up to the album that i found on kickasstorrents. Love it. In particular, love Joell's freestyles.

In terms of "traditional" hip-hop skills aka bragging, Slaughterhouse got that in bucketloads
Songs of the year
